I have on ething that bothers me quite a bit when it comes to MUGEN (apart from the crashes and such) and that is the fact that it can be very bothersome to have around 200 stages in your folder. It takes alot of room and it's difficult to find the stage you want to fight on, but there are stages from different games that are just to cool to miss. What to do?Combo stages!!What do I mean with something as rediculous as that?Hmmm, for an example, imagine this, you like Mortal Kombat 1 stages but must keep only two of them, what to do?Imagine a wide stage that is a crosswork of most Mortal Kombat 1 levels, connected like a long sidescroller stage like this:ShangTsung Arena - Palace Gates - Shang Tsung's Throne Room - The Pit - Statue GardenAs such, you could have 5 stages in one, other examples could be made of... I dunno perhaps different Japanese Castle levels, pieced together to create an almost all in one castle stage like:Suzaku Castle SF2 - Japanese bathhouse MvC series - Japan stage (NEOGEO BC)Is this a good idea?
I see what the concept is. Basically, it's like Dead or Alive, where the stage isn't confined by the means of one small area; rather, when your character performs a move that sends an opponent flying heavily, the amount of force behind it causes the stage walls to be unable to stop the object (due to the laws of inertia). Thus, if you treat the stage walls as actual walls, and not just invisible barriers, then a serious launch attack sends the fighter flying into whatever lies behind that wall - thus making for more dynamic fight scenes, rather than just monotonous, bland stages. The concept sounds quite nice. I like it.
Not really, rather, it's just a very wide stage that connects to other stages by itself. For the MK example, I it's basically that you can walk the long stretch, no barriers, no smashable walls, everything is accessable from the star,t like a normal mugen level...
