Make sure you don't have spaces in the stage name, or else you won't be able to bind it to a character. Make it like this: The_Lost_City.

You should give the stage "floortension" and set it from either 30 to 40.

"debugbg" needs to be set to 0. Having it at 1 could slow performance.

Also, you should cut the backround sprite into about 20 to 50 pieces and reduce the color individually on each piece. The stage will look way better. Right now it's kind of hard on the eyes.

In other words... Beppu still should play MOAR KOF before making KOF XI chars...
Otherwise, he should just stop naming them "XI" chars and just rename them to "KOF: Beppu impact."
lol!

  • It's an invasion!
It looks quite decent.

I like the way it looks. I might decide to add it eventually to my stages. Although the preview screens are kinda tiny. But it don't matter. The overall view of it looks cool. Like a big city in ruins and I kinda like fighting scenarios with "ruins" for the background. :)

I'm beginning to think you're deluded because you said the same about my stage. This stage and mine look nothing like something from SMG, especially this one.

Hmm...

1) You adjusted boundlow.  Normally, most people don't do this.  It's usually zero.  I was wondering why the zoffset value was so low (line set high) but yet appeared the opposite on the stage itself.

I would normally say to lower the zoffset value (raise the line) so that the fighters aren't so close to the bottom, but everything needs readjustment.

2) You could use floortension (40-50) and use a lower verticalfollow [.7 to .8].

3) The window command does nothing here.  You can get rid of it.  (odd values were set anyways)

4) You can try setting a different y-delta for the background layer (like .75) to give it better depth.

5) The floor does not look good at all.  It was clearly stretched.  Either find a better floor or do a better editing job.

6) The background layer has moderate-to-severe color loss.  It's quite distracting.

Take the original uncompressed image (not a jpeg), split it into small parts, reduce each part to 256 colors, and then reassemble the parts in the def file.

So, needs some work.

I just noticed that there are like five stages that have that same exact floor.

Yeah, floors popularized by the MK vs SF flash movies tend to get used a lot.  (At least mine was edited significantly.)

If the background clarity was crisper and there was some slowly pulsing glow effects added to the lights in the background it'd be tight. GJ =)
