well good tutorial... but let's say the truth, this isn't exactly a wise thing to do in mugen games, only in full mugen games, it will be too much work to do it in a normal mugen, because we always add new stuff or delete old stages, so we will need to edit our fonts every time we do one of those things, but well good for you to do this tutorial...

btw there is a way to show the stage select screen after both players chose they chars, is in the classic street fighter mugen fullgame.
it will be a good technique for those who want they select stage screen in a middle of a standart character select screen, because this kind of things is hard to implement in normal mugen games without ruining the select screen, this can be bothering to the player who didn't choose the character yet, because he can't see WTF are he highlighting, but well there's always the big portrait right?
pls

I think the problem in the font color can be fixed with just a gray scale pallete

I don't think this tutorial can be made more "n00bish".
Everything is explained very clearly.

Are you sure you saved the sprite in pcx format?

If this is your last stage you should delete the additional blank space.

What I meant was to add some black boarders to each stage thumbnail image so it would look a little better in the game, however it all depends on the overall concept. You can use additional layer for that purpose (it's better to do that after shrinking the image) and later just merge all the layers. I don't have photoshop installed right now so I cannot help much further.

I tried using R to make a pic for random stage, and the picture is further to the left then all of the other stages.

Any idea on how to make sure they all line up correctly?

Thanks again, this makes my screenpack much better!

Just one question. When you say to resize the screens to the screenpack we're using, and saying you switched your height to 60, what do you mean? I only ask because, after I make my 30000x240 document and bring all my snaps into it, then resize the ducument to have 60 for the heigth, everything gets all blurry, evn when I say "constrain proportions". Also, if I try to resize the images before bringing them in, they're still blurry, and if I change them to indexed, then resize, then they just look like colorful pixelation. Any advice you can offer? Thanks for the tutorial by the way, I've been waiting on this with the pictures forever.
