They haven't announced anything. Adkins was just a name Ansah threw around saying he thought it would be cool. But there's a little more that needs to happen before it can be confirmed - like, you know, maybe the director contacting the actor in question, and the actor agreeing to play the part.

The changed names are a bit weird and always have been.

While I can understand boxer being called Bison, Claw being called Balrog and Dictator Vega have always been weird to me.  Balrog sounds like a nickname for someone ugly and destructive and Vega is a spanish family name. I cant help but find the changed names more fitting, even if the M in M bison ends up meaning nothing as a consequence.

Well, Dictator was named Vega after the star because it was cool and mystical. In SF2, he was thin, could practically fly, and set people on fire, so it made sense, really.
Dunno how Claw was named Balrog. Could be something that stuck from the earlier concept works where the guy with some weapon I don't remember and a mask was muscular and threatening.
edit - one version of that guy in SF2 concept arts was massive, and another was a bit thinner (still big) and had a sword. The Balrog in LotR has a sword, maybe that's when he got that name and it stuck.

it's actually a play on him being an extremely beautiful characters while also being an extremely destructive force*, an evil spirit (kinda like the tatsu from japanese culture [albeit some japanese dragons were just forces of nature, while others like orochi and such well, yknow], hence the snake tattoo on his upper body, which would signify him as a villain), but directly referenced to the western dragon because, spanish, and there's really no one generic term for dragon outside of the japanese language (which also has quite a few synonyms, itself), so yea, balrog** because someone was also likely a tolkien fan



*in japanese culture the dragon and tiger are considered the beauty and the beast, which each interchangeably filling either role at any time, so both could be each (actually got a reference in the ryuko no ken team's kof 2000 theme, well, "beauty and thd beast"

**balrogs are ugly
i cant count the reasons i should stay

one by one they all just fade away...

Damn! I wish I never saw this thread.. Now am all exited for something that I'm going to have to wait for! lol
The Fist season was amazing, I can't wait for the second and see what characters they will include in it.
