I don't know... new graphics don't make a new game. I only expect this is Capcom's first step in developing a new 2D fighter from scratch.

Yeah I guess my excitement is a bit early... ssf2t doesn't exactly have a sophisticated engine behind it like 3S does, so it will play clunky in comparison. Kind of a bad choice to put into high resolution. It's sort of a bitter-sweet gift from Capcom, sort of like the Castlevania Chronicles Dracula X game coming out in the fall. When will companies make new games instead of remixing the classics?

The gfx have highre res, but they're not as detailed as the GG ones. They look like they took the standard res graphics and applied Scale4x filter to them.

I love SSF2T, so I'm really looking forward to this. :sugoi:

Zwei_Fuss, SSF2T's gameplay has quite a bit more depth than appears at first glance. After all, it was the first SF to feature supers, throw teching, juggles, and groove/ISM/mode/etc. selection.

I'm kinda torn on this, myself.  On one hand, it's SSF2T.  On the other hand, it's SSF2T, the same game I played when I was a teenager, and the same game that I've bought many times before (Super Street Fighter Collection, Capcom Classics Collection...but not in HD :p).  Basically, I'm not sure if SSF2T going HD is enough to justify another purchase.

That's what I want to know, I'm getting mighty sick of them constantly rehashing the same single game. Hopefully, this may just be an experiment for an original game in the future. But yeah, they need to stop making these alternate versions and make a new Street Fighter. Or at least choose another game to rehash like Darkstalkers or Rival Schools.

Also, anyone notice the transparency on Hyper Fighting Ryu's leg in the poster?

Less than Guilty Gears, that's for sure.
Yes, but at GGXX isn't 16 years old. I think them rehashing GGXX is also bad, but I think in the end, Capcom is worse. At least for now.

At least this game should be a technical step forwards.

i hope ssft HD background effects would be the same with rumble fish(3d animated bg) and guilty gear or samurai showdown (stretching bg) for bigger fighting area for player in stages to avoid projectile problems and more realistic cannot be easily cornered area.

If you've read all the provided links (which are few at this point), you'd realize that the game is supposed to be a carbon copy of the gameplay with a graphical facelift.  Nothing else.
