I always feel like I'm going out on a limb every time I wanna bring this show up to people, but I really like Supernatural.I think the stigma comes from the fact that (in America at least) it's on the same network as Vampire Diaries and Vagina Mars.I guess it helps if you've been through some level of indoctrination into the Christian/Catholic religion to really appreciate it. I like the way they integrate all the monsters and religious stuff into reality. The soundtrack is always good. There's hot broads all over the place.....no matter how old. And it's funny....I giggle. Am I alone here?
I watch it. Seasons 1-5 were the best. They should have let S5 been the series finale like the creator intended. 6 was pretty bad and 7 was HORRIBLE. I almost stopped watching. Then came new writers and season 8 (gr8). S8 was back on it's game and 9 was pretty good too. So at least the show still has merit though I really doubt they'll be able to top S5's ending for S10's series finale. My main complaint though is that I'm sick of Dean being the sole star. S1&2 starred Sam, I felt S3 starred them both equally and S4 &5 starred Dean. So it all balanced. But the new writers have never let go of Dean. I like Dean, don't get me wrong. But I get so sick of being excited to see a Sam episode or potential Sam story arc and they use it to focus on Dean even more!I mean c'mon now! Dean already has his Angel boyfriend. And now he took Sam's king of hell boyfriend as well. It's just not fair!!!Any particular things to discuss about it? Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyI was pretty disappointed at the last episode of S9. Not the ep itself. But the way the whole season Sam kept going on and on about not doing anything if something happened to Dean. I thought it was a good story and I wanted it to be true.It fit with how he didn't even search for Dean when he went into purgatory. I was really hoping Sam would bury Dean and go try to live a normal life again. Then they could have did the Dean is now a demon reveal and cue the credits. The way it was done took away a lot of what the whole season built up. Of course we would expect Sam to try to bring Dean back. But I'd expected him to look for him after he got sent to purgatory too. Oh well. 1 more season to go. I hope they bring the dad back this season! Also, did you see the Supernatural Anime?
there was an anime? I picked up this show a few years back, and fell in love with it. I agree about season 6 and 7 they both were pretty bad. I didn't like Season 9 too much either tbh. Oh, so season 10 IS the final season? I'm hoping Bobby makes an appearance again in the final season he's probably my favorite character of the show, And yea dean did get a lot of shine in 8 and 9. I think it's been like that for a while actually.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1679482/Anime was 1 season and told S1&2 of the live action with quite a few differences.Yeah, S10 has been announced as the final season. After S8 it was announced it was renewed for 2 final seasons. I'm sure Bobby will make an appearance. He made it back in S8 and 9 for an ep each. Dean has been in the spotlight since S4 ;_;Oh and the pilot for the spin off series looked god awful! I am NOT going to watch that train wreck of a show. After I typed that last line I went to find a link for the spin off. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernatural:_BloodlinesI am happy to say that the wiki says they are not going to make this series now! Woot! But man, that makes the pilot episode even that much more of a waste of time and ridiculous...
Yea it was stupid, when I heard it might be a spin-off I went ehhh. They have plans of trying another spin off as well, but I don't know if that will stick at all. I hope a lot of old faces show up for the final season, that would be fun to see. They have lost so many people over the past 10 years. Lets hope season 10 Sam gets to shine more, He's felt like a support character for a long time now.
I agree with most of what you guys are saying/typing. I have been hooked sense the first season. Had no idea that there was an anime of the show. My only issue is about Michael and Lucifer. I probably need to go back and watch it again but I thought it was kind of a let down leaving them locked up in Hell.
They have a lot of loose ends they could have used for future stories. Another being the kid that was the anti christ. One of the most powerful characters they have had. And they never used him again! I thought for sure he'd be important to a story or two down the road.EDIT: Oh, on S9... it was the only season where I actually didn't hate the angels. They usually really bring the story/show down IMOMaybe that's why I liked S9 more than I should have. I was expecting to hate it due to it being so focused on Angels.
Yea I wasn't a fan of the whole fallen angel stuff. Also I totally forgot that anti Christ kid. He just vanished for like ever didn't he? LOL.I bet he'll make some showing in this final season, I wonder though we've seen lucifer, michael, gabriel, greek gods etc I wonder if this season we'll finally see god, and to a lesser extent Jesus. And of course maybe some more westchesters! because who knows.

I think if they brought him back it would be very interesting.
I'm certain God will finally make an appearance in the final season. It's like, the only thing they have yet to see. Let's hope they don't have to stop him lolOriginally in S5 the prophet was supposed to be God. That's why he just up and vanished at the end. And it's not like God hasn't had a hand in the show already. He did teleport them away from Lucifer when he was being freed.
Yea, he's mentioned a lot over the seasons, he's just never around. I just keep picturing this asshole fishing or just lounging around while all hell breaks loose because he's just sick of everyone's shit.I think they will like end up stumbling into him in some town or something.
This is Supernatural. So, how long is it going to take before the duo is back to normal episodes? You know what I'm talking about! Every season we get this big thing that happens at the end and in like 1-2 eps we are back to normal mode for a while. I predict the very 1st episode will do pretty much NOTHING with Dean's new "affliction". And we'll be back to normal brothers holding secrets adventures in no time!!!Worst one was Season 6 after S5 set Dean up with a family and they had to find a way to rip him away from it. UGH S6 why did you have to be so BAD?! Though you are still better than the damn Leviathans! If Bobby wouldn't have been a ghost I wouldn't have made it through that one at all!
yea, all idgits I tell ya!I think it might play out like when Sam lost his soul, and it was done over an arc, because honestly this feels like a semi re-hash of that. I hope it's something else, and I hope "Dick" Dean is gone. He was so mean in 9 that I would just call him Mean Dean :p
Yeah, Dean will stay a demon for a good while. It's just that itll be like no soul Sam in S6. They'll have adventures together for several eps like this instead of Dean going full Demon in ep 1 and changing the status quo for the last season.I'd like it if their dad had to help them to cure Dean or find God to have him do it. The dad escaped hell in S2 as a spirit. He may have demonic experience for all the years he spent in hell. Without turning his soul full on demon. And I hope Dean gets to stay dead. So if the demon leaves the body is still dead after all.But I highly doubt well see dad again. Or Sam's 1st girlfriend that fried like mom. After everything they have been through I honestly don't know a good way to end this show. not for the Winchesters themselves. For Heaven and hell and their respective characters I do. But I was really hoping that after they "carried on" there would really be "peace when they are done". Kansas works so well as a song if they actually succeeded. Which they did in S5 when it ended right the 1st time >:-(
I just hope they don't do some HUGE reset at the end like they just woke up from a bad dream and sam is still at school and dean is hunting with his dad or something like that.I think it might end with a little time skip, maybe they finally get to retire and their kids take over or something. I doubt dean stays dead, They are worse then Jean grey and DB characters with that.I'd love for Jeffery Dean Morgan to come back as Papa Winchester but I doubt that happens. It would be a fitting end to see them ride off into the sunset with their mom dad bobby the hunter mother and daughter whose names escape me atm and so many others.
I lost interest in this series long time ago, still watching new episodes, but all the good parts (common haunting case, Dean's jokes, Bobby) were all gone, Supernatural should have ended when lucifer was trapped back in hell and Dean found a family and lived a normal life. Bobby couldn't make appearance as ghost anymore because his body & whiskey flask has been cremated and his soul has been freed from hell into heaven, I guess he would stay at that Hunter's bar with Ash, Ellen & Jo. On the other hand John Winchester might still be able to make appearance since his soul probably still trapped somewhere in purgatory or hell. When these 2 brothers done with this, I guessDean still has a chance with Lisa or that dark girl (that was haunted by demon truck)and Sam with that panting dealer girl or that vet girl if her husband dies.
Liked only the first 15-20 episodes. After they had Lucifer there and it was more or less just a normal guy and the demons look like humans with black eyes I got bored. I mean...even the special effects and costumes in Buffy in the mid nineties looked better than this.
That's...the point. Them not being that different from humans. You wanted them to do boring horned red demon shit?Even outside Supernatural, Lucifer is usually depicted as a human in many media.
The only ones I found a bit overly silly looking so human were werewolves and dragons. Everything else has made complete sense. Most of which (demons/angels) are just altered spirits/ghosts anyway.
they take human host... what do you expect, probably their real forms are completely different. I also think Lucifer cast was bad, in many portrayal Lucifer should be beautiful or rather more feminine than Michaelbut instead they picked somebody that looked like construction worker to be Lucifer, and angsty teenager to be Michael
To be fair those were only meant to be temporary hosts. I liked the guy that played Lucifer. Though I liked him on Dexter before that. He always plays a good villain.
yea, but at least once possessed by the angel, they should dress differently right? like how Sam as Lucifer dressed up in white clothes in the alternate future, while the temporary Lucifer dressed down more and more like bum with disgusting skin condition. I thought he should be ashamed to look that bad as once most beautiful angel as in stories, I think it would be more fitting if he try to disguise his disfigured/ decaying host, maybe by wearing a hoodie or a mask or something.
He didn't care because that guy wasn't meant to be his host. Sam was meant to be his host. That guy was a rental car and Sam was his Ferrari.
lol... ok but using that analogyrental car is used only for a day or two, that was more like a rental apartment/ house, don't you try to make your current living place representable to feel comfy in even though it is not ideal and you aim for a better one in the near future, afterall demons are proud creature right, most demons if not all in Supernatural are all very self conscious with their appearances.
He's lucifer, he doesn't give two shits about the body he's in or how it's taken care of. He doesn't like humans at all. And there wasn't much he could do honestly, why bother.
kakkoii superhero said, June 24, 2014, 06:40:33 amlol... ok but using that analogyrental car is used only for a day or two, that was more like a rental apartment/ houseI said rental car and I meant rental car. It's meant to get him where he needs to go for a short time until he could get his real car that's been custom made for him. Once he's got that car he could put all the trim and spoilers and fresh decals and shit that he wants on it.
He stayed in that rotting body for months or maybe a year not just for a day or twohe could have dressed better nonetheless, getting a new clothes as powerful king of demon fallen archangel is too easyespecially since the actor looks more like it in real life

Also, did you see the Supernatural Anime?I remember events and bits and pieces of S6, 7, & 8, so I don't remember them being bad. Right now I'm in the middle of S9 and it's pretty damn good. Spoiler, click to toggle visibiltyThe human Cas was great and when he gets his grace back he's still good. I'm glad he's much more of a regular. The only thing that's annoying me a little is the trust shit between Sam and Dean. I'm watching them 2 or 3 at a time so these little issues they have play out too quick.I don't miss Bobby as much cause there's a good amount of Crowley (as an actor he carries weight) and, again, Cas. The show has evolved very well. And I know I read somewhere that they wouldn't include him, but I would love to see how they would tackle Jesus.
