Yun Seong= Namco's "New Coke" replacement for their classic Hwang.
Leaves a bad taste in your mouth and makes you long for the good ol' classic.

i never have loved soo much a game ;that one is soulcalibur 1 i like all of the chars,it is a shame chars like hwang where pushed a side off the original history line i hated the custom-character-alike of him(and li-long) in soulcalibur III...instead of that namco made talim,raphael,tira,setsuka,yun sung,cassandra
those look more to fit in a samurai shodown game than a soulcalibur game...i will never understand why they make silly desicions on who´s coming back and who don´t i have in mind making a hwang in a future
+1. I can't agree more with your post.

I really do hope you end up doing Hwang. If that was the case, I'd gladly be the guy to make him for MUGEN. No one has anything to worry though, I'm a good Hwang player if I do say so myself.

A few things. First, how do you get the sprites done so quickly? Are you scanning a basic pose and working from that? That's what I gathered from the "incompletes".

Second, in the first sheet, her torso looks off when she's standing. She looks square-ish around the middle, since her body is straight from chest to hip, instead of curving. Also, the detail you're trying to do for her stomach isn't working.

Third, the black lines do weird things to her, like the lines on her neck, as well as her crotch and butt. I think the breasts would work better without black lines, too.

Fourth, the leg armor (forgot what they're called) looks like cloth in some poses, instead of metal. There are a few where it's okay, but in a lot of the poses they look deformed and lumpy.

Finally, all that said, the animation looks like it will work well. Minus some follow-through and secondary animation in the hair (downward punch in particular), it looks pretty smooth. You would have a few frames to add some hair motion after the punch if it's the same one that launches in the game. You'd have to add a few frames for the FX, anyway.

 ;D HI .... sorry to be so late around saturday i could not be here but anyways...

using some screen captures from emus(in this case chankast) i could work with some pics ,i had to resize them after cleaning the image with graphic gale(like 2-3 mins each pic) it is prety simple to obtain some bases from 3d games(need emus and screen capture programs)....also i am working with transparent .bmps so i can use other chars as you can see the pics there are a mix for the jumping animation you will recognize cvs2-chunli and sfa-chun li also i am using some cvs2 mai and cvs2 maki to make the whole edits...there are a lot to get-polished-yet but i am reading any comment and opinion to make her......only rest to say have a happy new year..with more edits to come in 2008....bye for the moment  8)

i think i will only think in the DC soulcalibur version as a inspiration  those people who designed the game....let me thinking in one thing they do not respect the hardcore fans i hope i can re-find a good reason for finish her i truly dislike soulcalibur 4

Nice sprites...I'm not at that lv yet if you look at my topic (Showing 1 sprite of my private project) you'll see my pic isn't near as good, but I'll keep trying.

So far so good with your edites. for some reason i have a problem with colum 9 roll 4. her butty being too high up showing her lump down there. not sure if that is accurate. but over all good job and yeah, thats just me being picky :P
