From what I'm seeing so far Task has most of his MvC3 combos, so that's nice. The blog says it's still beta, so I'm sure there will be improvements to whatever bugs/errors exist.

I wish the Heavy attack button was mapped to b instead of z
it feels awkward playing on game pad and having R1 as Heavy.
The only thing i really like of this is the char sprites.
He's a keeper because of the sprites, never know, I might use them
for something in the future.

I also read something on his website, something about overseas
creators please don't RAPE use my Trackmaster for making another version
because its a trial version...I think that's what it read.

Oh I see now... Well I must say he did a really good job on these sprites and stuff. The char kinda ok at best, but it still has issues in it. I wish he would have used another template though

But truthfully, I wonder how long it will take before someone decides to edit this... I just hope he updates it and make it play even better than it does now because if he doesn't, especially with it having this template that is outdated....someone will...

Damn..he is accurate in terms of having 3 attack buttons.
The gameplay seems a tad sloppy and as a personal preference I do wish it was MVC1 or worst case even MVC2 style, but as everyone else seems to agree he has really awesome sprites.

gotta admit this made me laugh

i did check out some tasky combos on yt and attempted to recreate em, its possible for a few, but the system is so ungainly because of the constraints of the template. it really holds the character back.

I wish this character was done right cause hes my fave MVC3 char. His combo system wouldnt be that bad if he had a OTG system like Kamikaze and Infinite's doom. I really hopes he updates this character soon cause im very excited for a Taskmaster in my roster.

Man... a day after my birthday and my main umvc3 team is now whole in mugen. (Vergil/Doom/Taskmaster) Pure bliss.
Its so nice that creators like Rojin70 give us a taste of whats been cooking.
A very good beta for future progress. Fuuuuuuu... I can only dream how the final product should turn out.

Why is that a red flag?  It matches where the sword is striking, and it's a weapon, so there should be no collision.  Since I'm always trying to learn, where's the red flag here?

hitboxes shouldnt match the animation perfectly, but cover the animation arc of damage., that hitbox is too detailed.

Not to mention that since it doesnt have any overlap that move is always going to win in a tradeoff.

You read someone saying weapons shouldnt have collisions?  I mean im sure some games dont have collisions for weapons but i rarely see that as a rule.

It's about balancing the gameplay.
If you give a red CLSN on the whole weapon and stop the blue one on the end of the hand, the character will be overpowered, since he will always win when trading hits. Sure, in reality, a character shouldn't be hurt when his weapons gets hit, but he should still be balanced and have a disavantage for having such a long range.

Actually that's just the perspective. The point of hitbubbles it to secure contact on regions in a three-dimensional plane. Taskie does have said gap, but it matters little on where it is unlike what it'll get hit by.

But that's game-specific. In UMVC3, Hiryu has collision data that somewhat matches how he is in the older games, with hitbubbles reaching an extent of his cypher. Taskie's normals were meant to work in a way that trades were kinda impossible at the exchange of mediocre recovery on his normals, forcing him to either cancel into specials on block/whiff to stay safe or improvise escapes with Swing via some stupid easy blockstrings.

Yeah I realize, just reaffirming my belief the mvc3 hitboxes are kinda lame, but youre right. The major problem and reason I posted that hitbox was that shit on the top

Based on the arc in (U)MVC3, the green area here should show what should be gone in order to both maintain faithfulness and avoid really dumb occurences without necessarily following any sort of universal standard or whatever.

Nobody can compair mvc3 hitboxes with mugen anyway,  none of the
Hitboxes in mvc3 have a blue collision box overlaping attacks like we do
In mugen.  What works in mvc3 (3d game/last gen consoles) might not
Work in mugen.  So in mugen that sword attack would beat everything else.

Remapping a button in the cmd file takes less effort than typing this.

That sounded a lot less dick-ish in my head before I typed it, but seriously remapping buttons is one of the first things you see in the cmd file.

I wish the Heavy attack button was mapped to b instead of z
it feels awkward playing on game pad and having R1 as Heavy.
The only thing i really like of this is the char sprites.
He's a keeper because of the sprites, never know, I might use them
for something in the future.

I also read something on his website, something about overseas
creators please don't RAPE use my Trackmaster for making another version
because its a trial version...I think that's what it read.

Can't you just recover out of those? Especially that launcher loop.
Even so it's wrong because fall does not work that way in Marvel for a damn good reason as already made visible. What's even sillier is that the IMT template does at least have the launchers coded as a custom state as they're supposed to be so...yeah...

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

I was talking about the fact that they were labeled "infinites."
I don't really care about whatever the author does about recovery working like Marvel or not, he can do whatever he wants.
Point stands that you can't just assume something due to its origin.

I love this character, in the comics, just a bad dude. This is a great MUGEN release, for a BETA, IMO. I have been using him a lot. The sprites are great and I really like his move set, etc.. Wish there was a way to incorporate him picking up his opponents style as you play and maybe "stealing" their moves, but really that's not maybe possible for MUGEN, or for a coder. As is, this is my favorite newly released Char since a good while. A fully finished version could be the best char put out this year.

If you can, open the .sff and duplicate one of his sprites, then rename it 0,0.

(Optional, not needed) After that:
- edit his .def file and change every "act\" with "act/";
- edit the "mugenversion" from "0.95" to "1.0".

Gah, 4button MvC3 style... otherwise awesome character.

I dont see a problem with those hitboxes. The red is supposed to match how the sword was swung. If people had the time and will to sprite every single frame in, then you'd see the sword, in action, where all of the red is at. But those sprites dont exist.
Adding blue hitboxes to a weapon can add balance but the way the author made it is how he feels it's balanced. Maybe the recovery is 3 or 4 tics longer than any other move that would cover the same ground. I'm sure there's characters that do high roundhouse kicks that mimic those hitboxes, but then the char goes right into a standing pose. Who knows. I personally like character/body accurate hitboxes. We're playing mugen, not MvC3 or what ever game.

To me, those bill kane collision boxes are atrocious.
I mean, how much air can I attack in front of his gut??  Why is his shin totally invulnerable?? Dhalsim would be able to do a crouching punch or a slide under the attack to hit his leg but whiff on the rare occasion... and that's the basic A attack.

Anyways, Taskmaster looks great but I'm going to stay away from 3button chars.
