As you can see, I have my subforum now. I am going to be taking on the biggest load of work in this project: the characters, including spriting and coding. However, I need help in the following areas:

1. The Screenpack - I'm looking for someone who has created screenpacks before that can create a nice looking one for CvTW. I'm giving this person near complete creative control of it. I am having a graphic design major friend of mine create a logo, but otherwise, whoever I get to do this will have free range over the graphic style, color schemes, etc. I would like to have a say in the music department, though. ANyway, if you're interested leave me a message in this thread, and if you've worked on a screenpack before or have some sort of example of your work, link me to it please. This may sound like an audition, but trust me, I realize I'm asking for help, so I won't be picky or an asshole about it. EXShadow is on it. Yay!

2. Also I'd Like Help with Coding - While I can handle all the coding if necessary, it would be nice if I could get some help. I have a general template and gameplay style for the characters, of course, so it wouldn't be too much work. Just like above, if you have some previous work, pleas elink me to it. Between me, Buckus, and edits from Memo and Trinitronity, I think we have this covered now.

3. AI - I don't want to dump a whole game's worth of AI on Kamekaze again (he's still working on SHADEs 2 AI), so I'm looking for someone who can make AI or who can assist in teaching me how to make AI. Nevermind, I learned to code my own AI.

The team right now consists of:

Characters/Lead Code - SeanAltly
Additional Code - Buckus, Memo_FNG, Slenderman, Trinitronity
Screenpack: EXShadow
Stages: EXShadow, JeanBuereau, NoZ
Additional Sprites (Credit): Balthazar (Goku), CVSNB (Jin), Li Kun (Morrigan), Li Kun & Fervicante (Hinata), DG (Megaman), Cap_Rock and Zero Sennin (Blaze), Acey (Arthur), Titiln (Koopa Troopa), Slenderman (Ermac and Reptile), maitake (Volnutt), Dampir (K'), Shin Ryoga (Mario, edits by DavisMaximus & SeanAltly), HyperSonic (Sonic, with edits by SeanAltly), Kabao (Yoko Littner)
Music: WizzyWhipitWonderful
Executive Producer: Adam Rogers (Adam P. Sky)
Art/Portraits - SafirKreuz85 (possibly), SeanAltly (most likely)
Additional Art/Code Help - 2OS
Palettes: MalaDingDong, CGU
Beta Testing: Cybaster, Cazaki
Other Support - Laxxe23

So as you can see, I do need some help. Thanks for any help any of you can provide.
Son, the last thing you'll realize you need is what you've already got.

I'm telling you this honestly; getting anyone to agree to this part and see it through to the end will be damn near impossible.

You'll probably have to teach yourself or scrap that idea completely (unless you're willing to settle for half-assed stuff  :-\ ).

I mean again as in Kamekaze is already doing all of the AI for SHADEs of Manhattan 2. He already has done AI for every character, he's just updating it to 1.0 now.

I've had a couple of people offer to make AI for characters. I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal, I wouldn't be dumping the characters on them all at once, it would be gradually, as the characters are made. Also, like I said, I'm going to try to learn how to do it anyway because I'm completely aware that it is a lot to ask. Thanks for the advice though.

Tell Kamekaze to be a bit better on the AI levels, Squall was ridiculous even on level 1. If you adopt a new one I suggest that you let everyone who is on the team play through the game on level 1. If they can't beat the first...say...3 characters on rotation on AI level 1 (Assuming this project is a 1.0 project) with the character of their choosing then the game is too hard.

I can't just tell Kamekaze to "be better" on AI Levels. He'll see your feedback, I'm sure.

Added EX Shadow to the list of project members, as he's volunteered to make the screenpack. He sent me a selection of some of his work, check it out in the spoiler:

It's probably because the randomizers he uses are not different enough depending on the AI level. POTS came out with the best formula up to this day, for randomization purposes :
[mcode]
trigger1 = blabla && (XXX * (AIlevel ** 2 / 64.0))
[/mcode]
With XXX being how much you want it to be performed at max, so usually values between 50 and 250.

Aye EX's screenpacks are a bit too flashy and dark. Personally I think a motif that should be kept in the screenpack for the game is Earth. It's been incorporated in almost every Capcom fighting game. Mainly something similar to MvC1, except a tad more busy. :P

Using either dark, grim colors (red, black, gray, etc.) in unison with metals like silver or gold, y'know, how people have screenpacks that don't use vibrant colors and give you a feeling of "you're doomed". Although it's based on Tekken 6, on the picture on the top to the top right, the second picture from the top, the picture with Benimaru in it, AND the two lifebars under it are all examples of this. They look good, yes, but a little bit out of character.

In a game like this, the screenpack could benefit from using lighter and brighter colors, the yellows, oranges, greens, beiges, etc. Like what Dynamo said, it looks good if it's busy, but this is MUGEN, so I don't expect that from anyone. The subliminal message you should send isn't "WELCOME TO HELL, PERFORM OR DIE" like on some games like Melty Blood, but more like "GET READY FOR THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE". The lifebar can look fairly simple and blend in to the artstyle, rather than looking like it belongs to another game, something that Street Fighter 3 and Capcom Vs. SNK 1 (idk about 2) did well.

That's just my opinion, in the end I don't make the screenpack so do it however you guys want to do it and it won't make no difference to me.

I honestly haven't thought about stages at all. I know that I want all the stages to have the same art-style. If that means only having 8 or so stages like in MVC3, so be it. I am open to any offers to help on that.

If you are going to be fine with a small number of stages, I would indeed pack em up nice and full. Set them in a sort of shared world. Something like a Japan stage that has stuff in it so it can act as a stage for both Ryu, Jin Kazama, Kenji and Kaede,  an Infiltration stage of sorts that can act for Solid Snake, Mr. X, CapCom, Jill Valentine,
something like the ballroom stage (from Pocket Fighter at least I know it) for Demitri, Felicia, Dante/Vergil, Vice and Tizoc, well something like that :)
I'm sure the backgrounds can have a huge bunch of cameo's, like characters that didn't make the roster cut ;)
With some planning you might indeed only have to do about 8 big nice stages. A stage for each character would be overkill and not neccesairy.

That still doesn't mean your ideas are worthless. Having some characters in the background would be nice, example being the SHADES Character that would make it in the game have a stage with some other Shades chars in the background, or maybe just a city stage with some Final Fight, or Streets of Rage cameos.

Just wanted to announce here officially that WizzyWhipitWonderful will be providing music for the game! He'll actually making themes for all of The World characters in CPS2 style, which should be interested. He said in his PM to me that he'd be "going outside the box" for us, so I'm pretty happy. He already made a theme for Mr. X, which you can listen to HERE. Can't wait to hear what he comes up with for the likes of Sub-Zero, CM Punk, Squall, Solid Snake, and the others.

Just curious, but is there anything I can do to help this project? I haven't had any experience with coding MUGEN or spriting, but I'd just like to try and help.

Well if you really have no experience in Mugen then the only possible thing you can do to help is probably giving ideas to Sean, you could start learning to create content for it as well.

I'm sure Sean appreciates that you follow his work and considers that a good help.  :)
