Mr. Scruffy Detective said, June 07, 2010, 02:53:16 amIced said, June 06, 2010, 05:06:45 pmJun = angel.Nope. Angel is the "good side" of Kazuya that developed within him due to being with Jun. Kazuya chose Devil instead and when that happened Angel either got sealed deep inside him or vanished due to succumbing to the devil's powers.Wait, then Angel is female Kazuya? lolwhut?
if it got developed due to Jun, I wouldnt see it as much of a stretch in the future iterations to bring her back exactly as that, i didnt meant that the angel on tekken 2 was Jun( although it could be shown retconned). One of the reasons to say this is that Jin, has both angel wings and devil traits, as if its heiritage from both his parents.
MelvanaInChains said, May 31, 2010, 05:11:17 amI actually liked how Jin's a gigantic prick, personally"Don't tell me you fell in love with it?"*Bison widescreenHD*Srsly, I loved 6. And I don't get why old skoolerz have to hate on it. "Waaah! It's not much different to 5!" I hear them say. But why should Namco fix what ain't broken?"Scenario mode is shithouse!!" Yeah, but so was 5's 'Devil Within'. I'd take scenario mode over that anyday."Scenario mode shouldn't have been a main feature in the game!"It really isn't. If you intend to play the game soley for online purposes, You don't need to unlock characters in scenario mode to use online. It's all there. Hell, you don't even need it to to earn money for customization. But chances are the guys whining about scenario mode, are the same guys whining about customisation. On that note..."Customisation is pointless!" Maybe so, but I don't think it should be taken out of the game altogether. The little things such as customisation and all those extra modes give the player some variety and alittle extra replay value. Which is where Super Street Fighter 4 lacked for me. Although I couldn't possibly imagine it with customisation, the fact that it really only came down to arcade and online modes kinda flattened me abit. I'd get bored with SSFIV before I got bored with T6At the risk of being pelted with sharp objects by a horde of ol' skoolerz, I personally enjoyed 6 more than I did any other game it that series.
Would be cool if they had skin color customs like VF. The only one with a changeable skin color is Bryan, and only to blue or green
I was refering more to the comments left on the kotaku page.Srsly though, there's only a few games with strong storylines anyways.
I like 6 as well, mostly because the only other Tekken games I actually like are 3 and Tag... I hate 4.
I guess I'm old school Tekken and I think the problem with T6 was that it didn't live up to the hype, especially after being held back and updated let alone considering it was the "next gen" Tekken. They should have deffo created a TTT2 then T6.Saying that though I only played T6 a few times and don't own the game because it just didn't seem fun so I don't know too much about the story.T7 really needs to reduce the roster. For example, Jack 7 (by now I guess?) should just go off with that girl he loves or whatever. Raven never really seemed to kick off. Wangs another useless addition. The T5 roster was brilliant but even that could have used a cut down. And bring back Jun!!! Geez they bring back idiots like Kuma and Ganryu who no ones asking for but don't seem to want to bring Jun back who's got a huge following!
the_mith said, June 09, 2010, 08:39:06 pmThey should have deffo created a TTT2 then T6.That wouldn't work though, there wasn't enough new characters introduced. The pattern was 3 games then tag, meaning Tekken 7 should be tag, not 6.

Geez they bring back idiots like Kuma and Ganryu who no ones asking for but don't seem to want to bring Jun back who's got a huge following!Plot importance should never be a basis for a character roster. If that would be the case we'll be left with less than 10 chars. in KOF and less than 5 chars in SF.Besides every character in the series has his/her very own user fanbase (you do NOT want to piss off Namco fighting game fans, trust me) not to mention the developers said they will never remove any character. Even Kunimitsu has actually quite a good number of fans and they're still sadly left in the dark. Also I believe I read once in an interview that they want to bring back all the characters. Also I'm a Jack user. I wil go WRRYYYYYY!!!! if he gets removed.

If you played Tekken 6, characters who started off as clones (Jack=Kuma=Ganryu, Law=Lee, Bryan=Bruce etc) are very very different to each other and warrants their spot in the roster. If Jun has a huge following as you say, I think they would've brought her back in Tekken 5. That was the whole reason they brought back Kazuya in Tekken 4, he was way too popular to be killed off.I'll admit though, Kuma and Ganryu were never really that great before Namco differentiated them from Jack.
As far as I'm concerned I'd be happy for them to go back to their roots: 10-12 characters, a rival for each one, a sub boss, a final boss and maybe two secrets. Start from the bare essentials (Paul, a Law, Yoshimitsu, Nina, a Mishima) and work around them.QuoteIf you played Tekken 6, characters who started off as clones (Jack=Kuma=Ganryu, Law=Lee, Bryan=Bruce etc) are very very different to each other and warrants their spot in the roster.Eddy and Christie play the same and even share the same motivation plot-wise. The only difference being a slight reach advantage and a couple of different throws. One of them can go. Kuma and Panda play exactly the same, only difference being a slight reach advantage. One of them can go. There's two completely unnecessary characters as a start. On top of that, Devil Jin is done with either through Scenario Campiagn or through Jin's ending (possibly even Jin himself through Scenario), there's at least one more casualty. Heihachi's VA is dead, so one could expect him to get one last hurrah as a boss; hell, if they're going to get a new VA for him they could flange it up something chronic, distort it beyond recognition and play it as Heihachi finally finding a way to Devil up, either way as a boss character there's the possibility he could be made unplayable. Wang and Baek's endings suggest their death, whether that gets followed through with depends on the team's mood but that's another two characters who might not make it as well. That's seven characters that may get the chop.QuoteIf Jun has a huge following as you say, I think they would've brought her back in Tekken 5. No they wouldn't have, by then they were committed to introducing Asuka. And for the record, Jun was slated to return back in the home version of Tekken 3, but they ran out of time. You can use an AR to access the dormant placeholder code for her (Jin's movelist, Nina's model, Jun's Tekken 2 sfx).

Mr. Scruffy Detective said, June 10, 2010, 01:54:46 pmSo you want them to do Tekken 4 all over again?>Implying the formula I suggested only applies to Tekken 4, and not to every Tekken before 5Tekken: 8 characters, 8 rivals, sub boss, boss.Tekken 2: 10 characters, 10 rivals, sub boss, boss, secret character.Tekken 3: 10 characters, 6 rivals, sub boss, boss, final transformation of boss, 2 secret charactersTekken 4: 10 characters, 8 rivals, boss.5 was borderline, it was as extensive a Tekken roster should ever be. 6 was "Screw it, everyone's going in - no, wait! Leave out Jun and Kunimitsu just to shit Chosis up the wall".
