I'm a huge Tekken Tag fan. Its my favorite game of the series (Tag is actually one of my favorite fighting games of all time) with Tekken 5/5.1 right behind it. One of the best parts of these two games is their amazing soundtracks. Tekken Tag and Tekken 5 essentially has some of the best audial treats the entire series had to offer. I have been listening to their OST's ever since their release and they never get old. Now Tag II's OST was just released on ShadowHaxor. I'm having mixed feelings....

For one, Tekken's audio has turned into a house party. The entire soundtrack has this hard house/techno vibe. At first, especially if you're a huge fan of older stuff, it's hard to adjust to. Once you get past that, you're in for a treat. Well, depending on how you view remixes. Imitation is flattery, even if imitation can sometimes be uninspired. As much as I enjoy listening to Xiaoyu's School remix, you can't help but feel Namco held back on their production values a bit (E.G. their spread thin across SEVEN Tekken titles that are being developed at the same time). One of the best tracks available happens to be Jin's Tekken 3 stage remake. Another track that shines is Tag's PS2 opening suite remix. They're both great.... but they're simply a remix. For the rest of the tracks, like Condor Canyon and Snow Castle, expect the same level of oomph that Tekken 5's wonderful soundtrack offered.

I'm diggin' it, even if I'm left wanting a bit more. I'm not saying these remixes are terrible by any means. I just think Namco could have taken an extra step in creativity.

8 out of 10 :lugoi:

I'd like to report two robots on the MFG forums: One is EXShadow. The other is Saikoro.
There should be a Saikoro plugin for Photoshop.

The soundtrack gets a 6,5 from me, has some catchy and fitting tunes but overall it is a step down from tekken tt 1, t5 and t6 in my opinion
