Any good character is a template. A template is something to base your work on. Download something decent. Alter the animations and states, but leave in anything that looks necessary to the mechanics of the game.

Guild isn't against that precisely these days either if people are honest about it and something proper comes out the other end.If you release a ryu that still plays like morrigan, people are going to say shit if it's stolen or not.
