Pal TemplateHi! This is my first Mugen Character that I've ever worked on. Right now I'm working on the sprites, but right now I have a few done. The Apex isn't and actual character, but a superhero I made up when I was younger, so it's kinda important to me. Anyway, here are some of the sprites I've finished. Feedback is appreciated. The StandCrouchThe light punch (X)BTW if anyone could be a voice actor could you inform me? I've tried it myself and I suck, bad. lulz
You could use the Development resources to aid your search for the voice actor, about the sprites, looks good but they're not animated well (they look slow, or stiff).if you add more frames or speed up the FPS, it would look a lot better. You could also work on his hands, mostly the fingers, aside from that, good job!
As pointed out some minor adjustments could be made, but I like the idea a lot, it's very cool to see new and original character projects. Keep up the good work!

I'll fix the problems. But I'm glad that you like the idea! Thx for the nice words and sorry I couldn't reply quicker.BootyWarrior said, March 09, 2013, 03:51:24 amYou could use the Development resources to aid your search for the voice actor, about the sprites, looks good but they're not animated well (they look slow, or stiff).if you add more frames or speed up the FPS, it would look a lot better. And I've increased the fps on the l punch. Sorry I couldn't reply quicker. Here's the Medium Punch (Y)What do you guys think? I worked a little harder on this one and I adjusted the fingers so that they're nicer to look at. I also increased the frame rate
dncelestinx96 said, March 13, 2013, 01:36:56 amnice just edit the belt to make it look regular so it will look nothing like RougaBut that's how he chose it to be. What you're suggesting isn't even relevant to anything wrong with the sprites.

I'm not very huge on sprite making, so I can't give you any legitimate feedback. They look quite nice to me.
I don't know if it's just me, but the way the right hand is drawn in the Stand gif, it looks kind of looks like he has a case of Ectrodactyly aka Meat Claw. I figured it could be that the hand should be in the front pocket, but the when it's animated it just looks odd to me.

I thought they looked kind of odd. What do you guys think? The first frameThe second frame
Since they're edits of a professional they look nice, but from what I can tell there's not enough shading. I only see two colors for the shirt and pants. You need at least another layer of shading. That's just my opinion. I'm no expert at spriting.

I'm no expert at spriting.I decided that because Apex is supposed to be wearing more darker colors, it would look weird if i were to try to use lighter shades. When i tested using the lighter shades out just in case i was wrong, it turned out that i was right and the hoodie looked wonky. I appreciate the fact that you think they look nice though. BTW there are 3 colors. Outline, shaded base, and the base color. But I'm no expert at spriting either so I probably am doing it wrong. But as long as the end product is nice i think it's alright.
What would people think of a special move as a counter? I thought it was a good idea but i dont know if anyone would actually like the idea. The command would be D,DB,B,Punch
It really depends on the playstyle you have in mind for him. It's best to have a good idea of what he'll play like before you cook up a movelist.
Good advice. I was thinking of him as being more of a hard hitting, combo-savy character who's not really down for blocking much.
Rushdown, then? I don't think counters work all that well for rushdown characters. There's a few examples of that like Ryo from KOF, but his counter's timing is really strict. Gotta make sure it's not too out of place in his playstyle.
