One of my favorite video game genres besides fighting games.
I can list a couple off the top of my head, but Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu Black Label's True Last Boss, Hibachi, who can only be accessed by a few requirements, namely not dying at all, takes the cake for absolute insane.

There are plenty of good non bullet hell shmups.
Like the 19XX series if I remember correctly?

I mind as well name this the SHMUP thread.
