It would've been easier for you if you used the brush tool with feathering on.

Thought to post these here. I found these in Kong rips, which is interesting. I think that it's possible to finish shading these, but I don't really know how to do so. There were frames for Win/Taunt/Intro with this same problem, but I don't think that those would be needed. I can post them anyway, if you guys want.

I thought about doing that years ago, but I just didn't know what to use them for since King already has a back flip from Trap Shot.

Hmm. I think you should go ahead if you want to differ the two. I want to use these, but I can't speak for everyone else.

Just to make the animation make sense (read from right to left)

Like the other guys said, King already has another backflip move, if they didn't use that unfinished one, it's because it was a beta later replaced for something better :)

Like SageHarpuiaJDJ said, they are from Kong's sprite rips. I belive that there are some other unfinished sprites on some other characters, but I coudln't tell you which.

Ryo has an unshaded sprite for the start of a backwards roll that exists only in the sprite rips.

Ryo has a full set of backwards roll sprites (they're just mirrored version of his forward one, though). Chun-Li is pretty much the same: mirrored forward roll sprites and one or two sprites at the end that are minor edits of the forward roll's final sprites. And that's her CvS2 spriteset, which makes it extra weird.

Can't recall any more.

Probably not entirely source-accurate, but eh. Quickly finished. I might do King, too.

I have some sprites you may want to finish, with a possible palette:

SvC Roberto:

CvS Roberto:

CPS2 Roberto:

CvS Gan:

SvC Raizo:

CvS Raizo:

These are for [CvSvC sprite contest]. And of course to invite you to see the [spriters encyclopedia]

This is for anyone who wants to try their hand at shading a Street Fighter 3 styled sprite. eFeX's SF3 Zangief included for references. The stance is from SF4. He looks bigger but that's mainly because he is less crouched then in eFeX's sprite. Scars are to be added at the end via a simple mask trick.
