The Sprite Topic

As you all may know, ive been helping to do the SF3 sprite conversions for this project. So, as a way of keeping you all updated, ive created this thread so you can give me feedback on the sprite artwork for the characters going into the game.
Here they are:

Sagat

This is a spriting project i started last year. As it stands, Sagat is about 85% done (shock anim, twis, chip ko, electrocuted, throws, three intros and the dashes are all that need to be finished, and im halfway done with the twist and intros.)

Guile

So far the most incomplete of my projects, but one of my favorite to look at. Only like 1% done as ive only done two frames of his stand.

Bison

Believe me when i say its a pain to convert from cvs to sf3. For now, this is his look, but i hope to update later.

Sakura

By far one of the most subtle conversions i've done, this is sakura's look. Hope you like it.

Bison needs reworking in the face. Remember, SFIII sprites aren't just regular sprites with some fancy shading.

Yeah i know... That sprite is the first one thats stumped me as far as matching the style. I might just redraw the sf4 stance and color it. It'll probably work better if its scaled correctly...

I've already said it before and I'll say it again. Your Sagat is beautiful...no homo at all here.

Sakura is a bit chunky, Guile is a tad small in comparison to the others maybe use Efex reference sprites? Nah...I looked at them again and they are fine really...Bison is the one who needs most work.

Overall you are making a good enough attempt. Keep at it.

One more thing...will you make these public outside the fullgame? I would really, really, really love to use that Sagat somewhere else.

To answer your question, yes i will. It would be an injustice to just keep them for the fullgame. I mean, after all, the purpose of a community is sharing right?

So yeah, for each of these sprite sets, the characters full sff will be released after they make their first alpha appearance in game, possibly earlier if me and firelord agree to let them out early.

I don't know if you were going for his Alpha physique, but it looks kinda odd TBH. Still, it looks better than the first attempt.

I'd say go with the frowning one. It will look more natural, especially when he's going into winposes in where he's smiling.

I'd say post those two into the SFIII sprite thread, since the guys there will help you out more.

BTW Chatman...Here's some sprites you may need pretty soon if you plan to use CHEAP KO anims in the game. Also, all credit goes to Wuwo for riping these...they were released and open source at some point but are now offline.

Judging from this, it looks like you didn't add the extra frames to make more fluid animations like SFIII is supposed to have. Is this true?
Currently, i have not. Eventually im gonna try, but i might not end up doing it. (im no kickass animator like diepod, and all i use is paint so...yeah)

At the moment thats about right. And thank you sir, i appreciate the compliment, im glad you're seeing progress. I kinda pride myself on growing as a spriter. I actually went back and updated a shit ton of my earlier sprites to try and make them better. You might see a video soon.  ;)
