OK so I finally got around to playing 400 Days and I finished the epilogue and

and I'm really conflicted because it seems like such an innocuous choice that shouldn't have that much influence and I could've gotten a better result if I picked the other one but I have had a "no going back, stand by your decisions" policy but I've come really close to breaking it in this instance and I don't know what to do haaaaalllllllppppp.

Might sound rough, but stick with it. Giving your decisions even more weight by doing that. Who knows, you may end up with better people later because those two didn't come.

The whole point of these types of games is to replay them to see the different endings, so why wouldn't you do it over?

You should redo it ONCE you've fully completed it. Season 2 isn't even out yet. It'll ruin the experience.

 but whats cool is when season two is released as long as u have a saved game, the game will continue with the choices u made in the first game . looking forward to that

I mean rewind to the epilogue for my main, "official" save file, not just redoing the game to see all the possibilities (which I was planning to do eventually but then the Fables game came out and I did that for that one and stuff)

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.
