MDD Fo Shizzle said, June 30, 2011, 06:57:45 amYou realize he didn't "make" the sprite in the first place and just edited off of Mugen Ninja's, right?Yes, but he still said he'd want to use the stance, so I argued as to why he shouldn't.
Navetsea said, June 30, 2011, 05:16:33 amyou don't wear tuxedo top with jeans, that simpleI remember there was one Korean singer wearing a suit shirt with jeans. That's all I remember.I don't know if Vegeta asked permission from Mugen Ninja. Didn't he?
Karasai said, July 02, 2011, 05:58:56 amI dont see any shading. It is shaded but maybe my colour choices were to close each other that it's hard to see?
Two parts of this are giving me trouble/concern.-The hair. The top portion I pretty much have the shading similar to CVS2 Athena, but her stance is positioned slightly differently so I did a bit of shading modifications. The way CVS2 Athena's body is turned blocks out the length of her hair, so I couldn't really get a good reference at the inside part of it.-The stomach. Since, as far as I remember which is usually not very well, there are no women in CVS2 that have an exposed stomach I could use for a shading base, so I just kind of did this as I thought it should look. I think i could use some feedback on the legs and shoes as well. Thoughts?
Mugen Ninja, not looking CVS-ish, but the original style you make looks good. Take your time in doing the CVS style. I understand it's pretty hard to figure out the shading places.
@ Mugen Ninja: While the outline itself is decent, most of it's missing any hint of shading. Also, the light source is directly above the sprite, but from what I can see from the mask, it's at an angle. Personally, I would have went something more along the lines of this:But that's just me.
Cool one. And yeah. Cape needs work. Especially in the middle part.Just for BalmsoldSpoiler, click to toggle visibiltyWork on the project, man, these sprites are good, but don't forget you're in a team
MC-Truth said, July 02, 2011, 06:19:44 amI'd recommend you to check Maki:You need more contrast, especially in the skin colors. As it is, it looks like Athena lacked details on her face; the colors blend too much. ...Unless you took the colors straight from the actual cvs, in that case disregard all that. Also, look at Maki's knees. Athena's legs look flat because they lack the clearly defined knees. Finally, the shading on the skirt still looks KOF-ish. The light should come straight from above, not from one side.
Yes, the colors are the exact same as Athena's default palette in CVS2.I was going to use Maki as reference, but her legs are positioned differently which means different light sources. Thanks for the critique though, I'll take a look at it.
Did you open a Maki character in FF and scroll through the sprites for a better example? If you don't find a good reference try Yuri or Mai.
