The later DOA games gave her more skintight clothes to match, and she's always had the similar blonde ponytail and bangs. Also, here's what happens when I get a clean reference pic:yeah, much better. now it's just a matter of adding abit mroe depth to the shading, but mostly chaning the colour palette.
I don't really see what someone's stance has to do with sprite style. It's a character specific thing. I have no doubt that if it fit the character to have a stance where their back was turned, it would look fine. Just because there aren't any current CVS characters with stances where their back is turned doesn't mean there couldn't ever be. What if they wanted to make a CVS Lin?
^^ What he said.If it's characteristic of the stance, then that's just how it's gotta be. There's no problem with it.Also those Darkstalkers sprites by Kiwi seem too large... Though then again, the entire cast should probably be about that large with regards to their measurements. And as much as I've always loved that Felicia sprite, something about it at the same time feels off. Part of it might be the skin color; Felicia's skin is supposed to be slightly tan.But that Pyron... dear god I would code the shit out of a Pyron with that set. It's the first I've seen it.
Well Sean + Jesus, that would be like saying that lighting has nothing to do with the style of the sprite, or the number of colors in the palette wouldn't change the style of the sprite. There's just universally some general rules set by Capcom to describe what would count as a legitimate sprite in their style. It's not a traditional CvS style when you do it that way. Not to say it's bad because it's not traditional, but it's not true to CvS.

The orientation of a character only really has to do with fighting style. The general rule that fighters face the screen only has to do with aesthetics. "matching a style has more to do with handling pixels than the way fighters face.
Yeah, Diepod pretty much said what I was going to say. No offense intended, but that was the point of my first post. Fighting stance is a character specific thing. The rest of that stuff, colors, lighting, proportion, etc., is what makes it CVS style. I am interested in seeing a CVS Lin sprite now.

Diepod said, January 20, 2012, 06:52:19 pmI think I've mentioned Kiwi-RBG on the forums somewhere before. I feel he is the most accurate CvS spriter period. He doesn't just convert old sprite and call them Cvs, he puts in the extra effort to make them accurate to the style.Kiwi's legendary, but most accurate to CVS? Not all the time. Indeed he's damned good at what he does though, no denying that.
Oh shit. Oh shit! OH SHIT! OH SHIT!!!! OH SHIIIIIIIIIIITTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that's a badass work right there! That looks fuckin' tight.

Chuck looks awesome, but his hand doesn't seem to be holding the paddle, and also i think the saws could use a gray color instead of all just white, but its up to you.
