Why can't I make this thing look human?

Maybe the original proportions weren't too human to begin with? And we could never tell because of the clothes? Also, too much muscle... (not saying she's not muscular, but if all the other KOF girls are anything to go by, King herself should also be quite lean).

Also, there's something weird with that shading on the hip area... it should be continuous, from the leg to the torso.

Her proportions are fine.

Hip area? You mean like her butt? Oh, you say it's because the hip and leg shades don't connect. I think that it's fine because most of the shading on the torso came from the overlapping arm. The shadow shouldn't reach down any further.

I still don't think there should be such a strong separation in shading between the butt (yes, I meant her tushie :D) and the leg... the cheek flows almost seamlessly to the leg (unless one has a big butt). Also, the light comes from the top-right so her but should still have SOME shading around the border, I believe (I can't shade for shit, so what do I know).

Her proportions are fine.

I dunno... her torso seems a bit small (as in, vertically short)... I know she's kinda hunching a bit, but still...

I copied most of the shading from the original sprite so I'll just go with what I got. one can't really make out that small detail at this point anyway
<Small improvement to Hwa
:omg: I forgot to work on the arms a little more. I'll just do it later I suppose.

Now that I see the original sprite, I think that's just a baggy pocket, not her butt. If I had to take I guess, I'd say this is what her body looks like:

There are a bunch of other places where the cloth hangs rather than stick to the body, which is why I thought she looked a bit too buff (emphasis on "I thought"... this is just personal opinion, I could be wrong).

Well, she has no pockets and I like big butts and slightly exaggerated proportions, but thanks a lot for your suggestions/opinions.

V: Thanks

It's a good sprite, but I'd suggest something, if you don't mind:

- The detail in her leg(that picture) could use white lines too, so it will be more noticeable.
- Her lightest colour(reflex) in her left leg could be thinier, this way it will look better. Take Chun's as reference :).

^ Combines the best aspects of the two sprites to perfection, good job, well, actually the old boots and old stripes are still better imo

Do you guys take requests? As I'm looking for a decent sprite of Asuka Langley Soryu/Shikinami from Evangelion for an Avatar/Sig I wanna do. I'd like a really high quality sprite of her in her rebuild suit.  For dimensions I would like double this size if at all possible : 259px × 96px

If I can't request could someone link me to a topic where I can put this request in?

Double those dimensions wouldn't really be CVS though.

Also there are a few people that take commissions here, so if you got the money, they'll draw it for you.

Here, another try in CvS style (I'm putting a hard effort in other styles, I want to test me ^^')... Son Goku, based from Budokai Series, *(also I used the KO-KI sprite to see how coloring in the right way, hope I've managed. XD) feedback will be welcome =).

It seems you copied the lightsource from the base image you used. That's not CvS :P
