Could MAYBE lighten up on outlines in the highlighted areas. You really need to follow the shape of what you're shading better. For example you shaded the shoes as if they were perfect circles rather than the oval shape that they really are.I can't say much else since it has a good outline and I have no idea how Capcom would make a drybones look next to Ryu.Oh and I see you used the darkest color of the shell as a shade towards the bottom. This rarely happens in CvS unless the object is meant to be black. You should add a fifth color to it and smooth out that shade a bit more as it's a bit jagged and just like the more prominent shadow it doesn't follow the shape of the shell.
G.o.D. said, October 14, 2012, 02:14:35 pmIf I want to edit Shiki Nanaya to be in CvS style, what should I change? From what i'm seeing, the current light source is coming from the front.Standard CvS lightsource comes from above the character.

Yeah it doesn't look like this is a good tutorial at all. I mean the spritr looks nice but not really CVS-ish.

I mean the spritr looks nice but not really CVS-ish.i agree on that one. the sprite is too bright.i'll try to collect official cvs colours and do something like this.EDIT:slash that. i meant it's low in saturation.it's hard to find a sprite with only FOUR shades. most are five.2nd EDIT:okay, i've made 5 shades into 2 sets of four and 6 shades into 3 sets of four.so far i have 68 sets and 16 fake sets (non-official).

Arghhhhh, screw it... Shitty palette (and anatomy) issues aside, does the shading in this look even remotely CVS-ish to you guys?I'm trying to do a legit existing-style shaded sprite for once... since I'll need to learn how to do these at SOME point... tried looking at a Ryu sprite while doing this... I think I ended up winging most of it, though. Which is ironic for poor ol' Raziel, since he has no wings! HAHAHA *shoots himself*Seriously, C&C welcome!
