Hi, I'm new to the forum and mugen, but I was wondering, does this count as a cvs styled sprite? My apologies if it isn't.

My apologies if it isn't.It depends what you're actually going for (if its intended to look like cvs style, complete or for feedback, then this thread is the right place.), Look at yamazaki, Kyo or any other character for references or guidance. To me, it could use some more details/textures on the coat, some refining on the belt(?) and his shoes need to be bigger, not to mention they have different shading (CVS style has the light source from the top center, while your shoe shading looks KOF, from a front angle.).
@CVS Artist: That Colonel. That's not a bad Colonel at all (I forgot how big he was. I know he was bigger than Zero IIRC?). I think that looks like the appropriate height anyways for him in CvS style. Though not sure on that lightsaber of his...it doesn't seem to feel right with the shading on it. It could be just me though.@CVS Abstract: That's an interesting looking character. Who might that be? Though her right hand (the hand closest to the screen) looks a bit awkward, like it's a bit fat or something, if you know what I mean.
- Craig: It's a great Jun's sprite, but her right hand needs to be fixed. I would suggest Chun Li(CvS2) for references. Also, I would like to add that the forearm-upper arm could use a merging with the lightest colours(just placing the second skin colour wisely makes a big difference ). Aside that, it's a wonderful(another) work of yours .Feel free to use my Jun as reference too:http://felollop.deviantart.com/art/Jun-Kazama-302049274
C.v.s The Abstract said, March 04, 2013, 01:46:31 amDon't be afraid of Capcomizing the hands if it helps make them look more... uh... normal. Scratch that, on a closer look the left hand looks alright, it's just the size of the right one making it look all shriveled. Really not sure what you were trying to do with that...
Blizzard Buffalo said, March 03, 2013, 05:18:21 pmMech-Wreck Nuts n' BoltsThe character on the right side has a light source from the left to her left arm (our right). Her left arm needs to be shaded from above.C.v.s The Abstract said, March 04, 2013, 01:46:31 amI agree with others. Her right hand needs to get fixed and it looks bulky.C.R.O.M - CVS artist said, March 04, 2013, 12:31:52 amcvs colonelThe cap at the front looks like the lighting's facing from the right side or the front side. The shadings from both sides to his legs look not so CVS. You just need to dark his feet and legs a little bit. Also, his left pad (our right) looks like it's shaded from the top-left. The face and thing on the forehead need to be a little bit darkened. His right arm (our left) is shaded from the lower right too. I think you have problem with shading in certain areas of his body. There are so many lightings around that character. You will need to work on it.
For CvS I think his colors are a tad too bright, and the placing of your shadow colors isn't that goo too, to be honest. The skirt thing for instance is lacking any depth, whereas in the original sprite, that comes out really well. Also I had to really peer my eyes to notice the 2nd shade of it (the blend color). You're using it too sparse.
I don't mean to show dislike for your sprite of Ado, but it doesn't really looks like CvS style. The shading for the style involves more of anti aliasing and more shadows over the parts.
man...all these sprites you guys made....i have not been trying to sprite for a long time....i wanna get back to it,i already got two palette templates to use for em for CVS and SF3 styles jsut in case

A lot of sprites over the past few months just have been posted in these theme threads having qualities of no specific style. That's just my opinion.
