IDK about a reference... But you could just try and play it by eye. Tone down the contrast a bit and see how that looks. Just make him a few shades lighter. Also, no problem you did a good job.

I have update the stance of serious mr.karate in detail I redraw the tengu mask and fixed his right foot and I edit a serious takuma stance as well...
That's a really good animation. I only think that the line on his left arm (our right) moves a little too much.
