I have ripped T-hoppy from Clayfighter 63 1/3 Sculptor's Cut. I think it's complete, but let me know, if there is anything important missing.Download
I ripped the sprites with Project 64 and the 1964Video plugin, which has an option to dump the textures during gameplay. The downside is (at least with clayfighter), that you don't get the full sprites; instead, each character is sliced into parts of varying size. After dumping the sprites, there are different subfolders in the plugin folder. The folder "png_all" contains the sprite parts as they appear ingame. That means, each sprite has a non-solid smooth outline, because there is some kind of alpha mask applied to them. But the other folder "png_by_rgb_a" has the sprites AND the alpha mask separated. What i did, was to sort the sprite parts by dimensions and assemble every sprite and it's alpha mask. Then i pasted the sprite as a new image and the alpha mask on a second layer on top. I selected the black bg on the alpha mask, but deleted it on the actual sprite layer. The result is a sprite with a clean outline. As you can imagine, this takes a very long time.To avoid any confusion about the sprite sheet: At the bottom, it says 'ripped by Maxim for the Spriter's Resource' - I posted the sheet over there a bit earlier.
I don't have idea Project64 has a video plugin where you can do that. Thanks, I'll look about that plugin I'm making some of CF63 1/3 chars and I already made Earthworm Jim, but I was using the "MAME way" (shots + manual clean with a video editor) for getting the sprites, I think your method will make things easier for me or do you plenned to rip more chars from this game??
