Those Bee Blader palettes are awesome!

are you going to make both versions of zero? and i assume he will have his basic moves and attacks?

I plan to make all 3 versions. I just wish I had some walking sprites for his X1 version, seeing as he probably won't have many attacks other then his Z-Buster and I'd like to have him at least be a bit more useful in terms of movement, seeing as most characters so far can't even walk.

X2 version should be pretty accurate, and X3 version..well I would give him just his saber if I had edited sprites once again for alternate slashes, but otherwise I'll probably just give him a slash and two different buster shots. Probably not going to give Zero or X charging, just have the blasts ready from the start.

Thanks.

3 for the Armored Armadillo.

Just one curious question.  There appears to be some unused colors spreaded on each characters' color table.  I need to know if the applied palettes work correctly to all and do not show signs of a missing or glitched color spot.

In other words, if Armadillo's skin is red, do all of his skin sprites are completely covered in red or is there at least one image that has a missing color?

Looking forward to the rest.

Ah, don't worry about it. Those colors are from some sprites that I forgot to remove from the template before I converted it. They were part of his charging sprites which I removed due to Mugen's palfx basically rendering them useless.

UPDATE 1/03/11

Overdrive Ostrich template

And just for the Hell of it, here are some pals I've made so far. :)

Heh, been a week since that post?  I prefer if you make a double post to catch up on the newest templates lol.

Been a while since I've done some colors.

Ostrich is done.

Good stuff.

So far I'm unfortunately not done with Overdrive Ostrich. Of all the characters so far he seems the most annoying to code..I dunno why. Mainly his jumping into background + running move. >___< As cool as it looks it is pretty fucking useless and has been a pain to code so far.

Otherwise my only problem is trying to figure out how to implement the rocket from his stage into his movelist. Mwuahahahah!

the rocket? really? that would be cool if you can find a use for it. a simple 1 is for him to ride it towards the opponent, course using a rocket seem more like a super. keep at him hes my second fav from x2 ;D

Got permission. X1 Zero now has the green light! (No boob crystal joke intended)

dude, this project rocks. I've been following it for some time and it is great

Just one tip: I think you should not include the explosions on the palettes. Its weird to see it changing colors :)

Keep the good work

edit:

btw, will Colonel be on the game?

At first I was going to have the explosions match the games 100% of the time. (X characters only have orange flames, X2-X3 have blue flames) but it seems more fun and interesting to mix it up a bit. Makes the palettes more interesting.  ;D

And as for Colonel, the only way he'd make it into the game would be if someone did a full sheet of him in 16-bit MMX style. Same mostly goes for any other Mega Man character, regardless of the series.

good stuff! however, the rocket coming from the bottom does look wierd much like the guy said on the video. now considering him riding would be tough to do since you plan on using it for a basic attack, now what i just thought of is why not just have the rocket come in from the left and right of the screen instead? it probably have to be shorten up to have it look right coming out of the screen and hitting opponents.

So you think it should come from the right or left side, as opposed to from the air? I see what you mean but seeing as the rocket is pretty large that move would be quite hard to dodge, making it pretty cheap. Most characters don't have blocking or crouching, and even with a jump it would still be kinda messed up.

I have vertically flipped the rocket though, and aside from that if anyone was wondering the reason why I have the attack the way it is (very short range) is because I was going for something similar to Captain Corridor in which it covers that whole vertical space but is still easy to avoid.

oh right i forgot about that, it wouldnt be fair, sorta forgot about some of them not able to block thing, maybe the rocket could drop something? as well as keeping the other attack, though not sure on how much youll get to see it with the nose coming down first

But his sprites look too much different from the SNES-ish ones? I think they are very close

Yessir. The 32-bit sprites look immensely different from the 16-bit ones. More colors, more detail, totally different lighting.
