it's really ismple to break the nostalgia factor, play the game again now, if it sucks, it was nostalgia, if it's still fun, the game was indeed really good.

The price reduction shortly before release had me worried that it wasn't going to be any good... I guess I'm right.

  • I've got ballllls of steeellll.
Just played it, and as much as I was hoping to enjoy this, thank GOD I didn't buy this rubbish remake.

First of all, I truly loved the original, and still do to this day (played the original just now as well, and yep...  still love it).  But there is nothing about this one that makes it worth playing over the orignal.  First off, the graphics simply do not come anywhere close to retro TMNT in any way, and frankly just makes the game look incredibly bland.  I'm perfectly fine that they went 3D with this, but they failed at it.

And the new music compliments the graphics; bland and forgettable.  At least out of the stages I've played, none of the music was remixed from the original's excellent soundtrack (which would've made me buy this alone if they had).  I found the new walking controls to be wonky and uneeded.  Either incorperate full-360 controls or fucking keep it like it was.  I could go on and on about specific things that truly saddened me about this once great game.

In short, they could've done soooo much with today's technology to make a brilliant cartoon-esque remake of this game (new features and stages would be even better IMO).  If you want to relive this for nostalgia sake, play the original; unfortunately it's still the best version out there.
