I have a problem with too many character folders...now i know there is spessial screenpacks that devide characters into devisions of different games..but i dont want to change my screenpack...how place characters into differnet folders?i want to know what do i have to change in select.def..and system def in order to be able to use those characters from different folders?
As far as I know, screenpacks that "divide characters into divisions of different games" as you put it are just regular select screens with different graphics (I'm thinking of EvE, it's the only pack I've ever seen doing what you're talking about). I'm fairly sure that MUGEN can only grab characters from one folder, that being the characters folder, but I might be wrong. Try this, because I can't at the moment:Move a character (character1 in this example) from the normal folder to, say, Chars/Division1. Then instead of just putting the name of that character's folder into select.def, put the path to the new folder from your MUGEN folder.ie:character3character2Chars/Division1/character1It might work, because I read somewhere that MUGEN first checks a specific folder (in this case, Chars), then its root after that, then any misc. folders.
thank you for your replybut it didnt work...i tried different variations with subfolders toonow i remember another way that was used in EVA full game.. but in that case i would have to place all my .def files into data folder...and that would create a problem of too many .def files...uhh..
i think i will never find solution...butsince u mentioned EVE screenpack..i know there are different ones..were can i find the one u mentioned?
As I said, it only has the appearance of sorting things on its select screen, it doesn't actually let you sort the folders...Also, it's from MI, which is obviously down at the moment... if you really want it you'll have to request it from someone. And note that it's not high-res.
