Greetings Everyone *bows*

Since the Renamon character I released last year (2012) went over pretty well and after a fourth attempt at Cracker Jack base that I couldn't get an approval on... ¬_¬ From October (2013) to now, I've been working on an Agumon character using the same system and art style of MVC1.

Finished:
Basic Movements, MVC Movements and Required Sprites.
Standing and Crouching Attacks

Currently:
Work in on Aerial Attacks

Looking for inconsistencies. I've gone back quite a few times to fix sprites were Agumon's sprite got bigger than it should be. So I'm still looking for it if you happen to see it!

Kinda starting a a tendency of leaving out one of the Digivolutions. Renamon didn't have Taomon for example.
Aside form that excuse, Metal Greymon is very much inbetween Greymon and Wargreymon that he wouldn't have anything to make it stand out... Though, don't get me wrong here, Shark-Nipple Missiles would be hilarious to animate! :D

Greetings Everyone,

I just finished the last required state and have begun to work solely on Fire FX and special moves! I'll upload the fire FX progress later tonight

BUT, before that, I have a question concerning a design choice.
I had originally considered having only Palmon as a striker and Gabumon for duo attacks and ect. However, it was suggested I go with Biyomon and Gomamon because they're uniquer looking characters.

Now, I'm a bit torn on who even I would want to be the supports!

Pretty much got all of the first season to work with and they all will get a cameo... So who would you guys want to see as helpers?

Edit: I fixed that animation, it did look wonky. Thx for that. :)

A "Marching Fishes" Stiker does sound awesome, doesn't it? :D

As for Augmon's progress, I just completed his Poy Fireball Special/Pepperbreath Super animation

and I used the Pallete from the MVC1 damage fire effect to create the ball itself

Pepperbreath would be the super version, that will look more like the familiar fireball from the show:

And in doing so, I looked up the Digimon Wiki to see what other attacks I can use at my disposal
Quote
Attacks

■Pepper Breath[8] (Baby Flame): Shoots an orange and red fireball of varying strength from its mouth.
■Claw Attack (するどいツメ, Surudoi Tsume?, lit. "Sharp Claw"): Attacks with claws.
■Spirit Fire (Spitfire): Shoots a small blast of fire from its mouth.
■Cross Fire[9] (Cross Fight): Gathers power and then either bites foe and slashes them with claws.
■Battle Hawk[10]
■Triple Bird Flame (Triple Baby Flame): Performs "Pepper Breath" alongside two other Agumon, fusing the three flames into a gigantic fireball.
Attacks in Digimon Rumble Arena 2

■Claw Uppercut (Uppercut)
■Claw Attack (Mach Jab)
Attacks in Digimon World Re:Digitize

■Fire Breath
■Mach Jab

This has been a rather difficult list to come up with attacks for... All I can really think of is the Claw attack maybe becoming a vertical "Corkskew Claw", similar to Ken's Shin Shoryuken, but not as powerful.
And an idea of A super that summons Tai to kick a rolled up Agumon like a Soccorball at his opponent... With this list, any other ideas?

From what I recall for Claw Attack in Digimon Rumble Arena, it was a 3-part hitting move (stunned during any of the hits, and last hit knocked the opponent quite a distance away). So you could almost make it a Rekka Ken type move I suppose. Up to you! Can even bring other Digimon World abilities into the fray, even if they are used by others~

Ok, so I looked up some Digimon rumble arena videos (1 and 2) and saw how Claw Attack and Claw Upper work. I think I can make it work without BLATANTLY appearing I ripped off Ryu. :P

Pretty neat bonus: I found all the voice clips from Rumble Arena 2 and Think I may update Renamon's voice pack!

watchout for the consistency of agumon´s mouth lenght, it varies in volume noticieably in the fireball´s animation, great work on everythign else
Thanks for that, I see the issue fixed it. Looks much better!

So, you have everything set then for his moveset and custom states and everything I take it?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, I think with Claw Upper and Claw Attack, he's set for special moves. His Supers will be sprited next when these are done.

BUT, before I start the Supers, I'll upload those sprites for Review here! (working on Claw Upper as I speak)

Edit: And I know my audience. As for his MB, I have no ideas yet. probably some girl, Darkstalker's "Anita" size, in an agu costume... Unless I hear something better.

Hmm...you can try something like a tropical girl maybe? I dunno, I'm thinking of the one I saw for Yoshi. I could show you that if you really want to (well, it'll be with every other Smash character but...)?

EDIT - If you were to try a shock for him, you can reuse this one from Digimon Battle Spirit 1.5 (there's one for Renamon in there too if you wanna update her with that too):

Well, now that I have PLENTY of free time on my hands. I'll be finishing Agu within the month.

The problem that's now arisen is the audio files. Long story short, I wasted about 4 hours trying to get my computer to record D.R.A.2 off of Dolphin and it didn't work. The voice clips pack I found online turned out to be all Korean... so Bonus, I'll have a Korean patch for this character =P just for the hell of it. But still nothing in English...

Anyway, Claw Upper is finished and working on Claw Attack

(The second half is sped up cause it's just a reused animation)

Edit: I'll have a video up of his Current progress once I finish the Claw Attack!

OK! Commissions are done and continuing with the project!
 After finishing this huge sprite:

I did some work on Renamon's AI to fix up her Sakuyamon Super, So you'll be pleased to know that no issues from the previous release of Renamon will be carried over to the Agumon!

Now then, back to the sprite. Here's how he appears in game

Mostly so you can have a comparison from Original form to Champion Level.

The Super begins with Agumon lighting up and Digi effects, then turns into Greymon (Enemies will be dazed if hit during transformation phase)
Spoiler, click to toggle visibilty

His Novablast is the enemy, stunned or otherwise. It's a short range attack into pillar!

Sorry for the last of replys. I'm back to work, so this project has been slowed a bit again. Although, the good news is that all that's left is to sprite Gabumon/Ikakumon and a couple of intros and outros! Which isn't too bad, to be honest.

To make up for the quiet, here's what LVL 3 looks like, Terra Force

It's a fair question. <_<

I'm back to work and just finished a bunch of sprite animations for a bit of extra money on the side... I'm a bit burnt on spriting, but I won't use it as an excuse for a long hiatus. I'll have more work done in the following weeks.

Thanks for your patience *bows*

Ikakkumon's animations done. I got Ra_Lord on board to help with the coding again and he's already made big improvements

Working on some alterations and THEN I'll have another updated video. Thanks again for your patience!

Wow. Seeing this for the first time, and it looks amazing. I hope you finish it. Great animation quality, and not something I thought I'd see in Mugen aside from awful ripped sprites from handheld games.

Your sprites look really good, you're really talented. How long have you been spriting for?

This is frustrating... I wanted this character finished a months, but stuff kept coming up.

The reason why is Good News:

That aside, even with my overtime at work, I'm working on this every night to finish it. I know a lot of you are almost tired with waiting and I'm tired of holding out! Almost done, people! :D

And oh! Thanks for the compliments!  I've been working with sprites for just over 10 years... I was always more of the animation side of things, rather than a full-detailed rendering Artist.
