Well,i just said Ok.

You have your opinions,i have mine.

I respect yours,you respect mine.

It would never happen (like RS,i mean) that's why it's pointless to discuss it.

Edit : If you would like to know my opinion on how it would become like RS,i would gladly share it.

People here know things will go to hell yet let it happen for the sake of freedom of speech.

This is the one point where you are consistently wrong throughout your otherwise usually factual posts that are harder to attack. But this is attackable.

You say

1) we know, as you (+ many people) know from experience or common sense, what will happen (bad things, undesirable outcomes, negative tendencies, conflicts, evil, and so on) but "allow" or push silly decisions anyway
2) we do not care (we do not moderate the forum appropriately, we do not have the appropriate rules, we do not conduct ourselves as people who care about what they do should, et cetera)

I see these two connected things as re-ocurring elements in the posts you make in the last time (perhaps ever since we fucked things up and shot things to hell and killed mugen [joke, not saying you wrote that]). Do I read them as they were meant?

If I do: are those facts? Can you know that we don't care? Maybe we care, just about completely different things. Maybe we care about the same things but our caring manifests itself in different ways so that it may just appear as if we don't care.

(And, um, I'm short on time or you'd see a lot more from me.)

Maybe we do not intentionally walk the road to hell because

-is it really leading to hell? sure?
-what is hell, anyway? like caring, the hells we like to avoid might look different from the ones you talk about

If we knew what you seem to know, I would judge us more than just "not-caring." I'd call us evil. Driving this forum towards the wall knowing that we will crash? Evil. Bad, I mean. Quite stupid. Whatever for? Revenge! To prove a point! To further chaos and spread anarchy! Huh?

@KOD
You could also stop acting as if there was anything fundamentaly bad on RS. It's not a dictatorship or anything. It has rules, it enforces them, but they all have a reason and they have been established from choices of orientation without hindering "freedom of speech+overall respect" (the combination. Meaning if a release is disrespectful toward the one who has authorship over something, or generally disrespectful, this goes away without mention of freedom of speech. It's a choice, respect it.)
I'm not saying it's flawless, of course it has flaws, but not even important ones. Whatever some uneducated people might say.

Can you know that we don't care?
I can see you don't do efficient things to prevent them. Proof being that it happens at all. You know, heated arguments.

-is it really leading to hell? sure?
See previous line.
Of course you probably think it's better, as much as I think the other way is better. But we can all see arguments and insult and spam still happen (hi DizzySoldier, ynn3k, [E] etc.)
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.

I meant to say it would become empty like RS,not that it's a bad thing. It would be like a country's government without any citizens.

It's rules & regulations would be perfect for a business/commercial help forum since there are always people there to help you,but it would not fit in as a engine's (MUGEN) forum, since there needs to be some kind of social interaction.

Well, you do know that RS is more of a devlopment oriented forum, right ? Hence that's why there are far less people and activity.

There is interaction, it's just that people don't always go off-topic in half of the topics and shout all over the place. Less drama <=> less posts, you know that.

Mugenguild and Mugen Infantry are more of a general user oriented forum, so of course there are much more people.

KOD :
I can't even see myself say "remove the request section altogether" in this discussion, "remove the general discussion", "stop announcing other people's work" or even "stop announcing work with stolen content". Do you think it would be empty with just what I'm saying and still keeping those ? I'm asking for maturity, not even rules. I could live with choices of orientation taken by this forum, even if there could still be "discussions" (different from "heated arguments").

I'm asking for maturity, not even rules.
But you know that's utopia, so don't even bother asking and let it be. :(
RS being a developper forum for the most part, it has mature people, so people behave correctly.
MFG being a 7/77 year old forum, you cannot reach the same degree of maturity as on RS. Stop having faith in human beings, just go walk in the street and see how people act.

Exactly what Cybaster said.

I would rather have :

RS : Development/Help.
MFG : Minor Development,Releases (you won't find much feedback at RS) + General.
M.I : Well....nothing,the Random Insanity section has flooded the whole forum ::)

The only solution to get rid of Spam & Crap (Not General) would be to Ban/Warn.

I don't think I've said anything contradicting that, particularly your last line.

i would rather have heated arguments than take away freedom of speech; as long as a certain amount of respect is kept.

as long as a certain amount of respect is kept.
I agree. But that's precisely what doesn't exactly happen all the time. It would be preposterous to say that I'm a respect freak, with how easily I throw insults, afterall. But what happens too often around here is worse than what I do. Not all insult is bad language.

i agree, but one has to be very careful, especially in the internet where one can't guess on the upbringing or certain people. in my case, i am used to have big fights and heated arguments whitout any hard feelings towards the person after the fact has been resolved; as past things go i got into "big fights" with shadow watcher, rabite, and sanders over what one could consider petty stuff (like, ins ander's case, was one tick of hitpause).
but i know it is not like that for most people, and actually a lot of them will stop "reading" a post once they see a word like imbecile, stupid, dumb, or even feel a certain agressivity whitout even use of harsh words. one can't babysit them all, though, but there should be a level playing field in which one does not restrain humself too much, while still tries to avoid offending the other person.

Nothing I just thought it was funny. And if you read Cybaster's post, it is TOTALLY related.

uhhh......everyone posts too much.
Either that are everyone types too fast.
Every time I check this thread, I have to read 4 pages of everything I've missed.
(Which usually isn't much, because the same things are repeated over and over again.)

You want me to state it in other words ?
- RS : development oriented, few people, few activity, mature
- MFG : general forum, many people, immature, lots of activity (hence why I hang out here, mind you)

Does it feel less like and advertisement now ?
