works for me, but i had to go to regional language options, administrator tab, and change the language/region to japan/japanese
it works . . . and it's awesome, even for a non-fanservice-lover like meSpoiler: Proof that it works, ripped by me: bitchboss (click to see content)
would changing the filenames to anything other than runes still work with a fighter maker game or something
i first changed the folder, .exe and .kgt filanames to "game" it opened, but at the opening it closed because my comp wasn't in "readrunesmode-on" . . . went to control panel, language stuff or something, then in the third tab you set the language used for non-unicode applications; to japanese. asks for a reboot: yes
wow wtf I saw people at srk saying putting it directly in c: won't solve it, in the end I tried and it workedbut whaddya expect when windows does shit like displaying Yens instead of backslashes in shortcuts and other shitso long paths are the problemfiguring out the gameplay later
Got it working without any problems at all, the game feeels good and the art is pretty nice, I especially like the fact that the artist used dithering in some places instead of a deeper palette, gives it more of a sprite feel as opossed to let's say, arcana heart. the gun character is pretty nice with her stances.
the code is pretty ingenious, only "feedback" so far would be getting ride of that combo counter and using the original shadows that the engine gives you (the ones the main characters have under their feet) for the support charseasy mode is really easy, will try out hard . . . no infinites so far
c00per said, July 01, 2009, 01:27:44 amthis is a fm2nd game, the name of the .kgt file, the exe one and the folder must be the same . . .Thanks, I changed them all to Western characters and it works now.
Do I need to change every file name to western letters?I changed the exe, the folder, and the ktg files. It runs and then gives me an error trying to load a .demo file.Nope, renaming all the files didn't work either.

That's weird, it's showing the filenames properly but then when calling them it's not using Japanese characters.Anyway some things about the game:- The spriting gives the current gen retail fighters a run for their money- The strikers seem to be the main feeders of combos, kinda like JoJo (and MvC2?)- Too bad it doesn't have online (at least yet), only current motivation to play it is curiosity

Go to Control Panel then Regional and Language Options.2. If you haven't yet, click on the Languages tab and check the two text boxes to install additional language support. You need your XP installer for it (no idea on Vista). You may have to restart.3. Now click on the third tab (Advanced) and change the option in "Language for non-Unicode programs" to Japanese. You'll have to restart again after that.
Wait, it turns out that yesterday I had set the system to Japanese without restarting, thought that cancelling it reset everything but when I logged on today those changes took effect. So it wasn't the name change thing that solved it.
