Very basic: Stage creation/ripping?

  • Foolish, but learning.
The docs, by default, don't go into much detail at all.  And there's little here on the subject, really.

So you've got a stage which is longer than a screen.  I presume you take multiple screen shots so you've 'got everything'.  You capture all the layers of it you can seperately.(What should you use to even take the shots?  Mame's own screenshot taker, or something like Animget?)

Then what?

If you can, use Kawaks' shot factory, it's a hell of a lot more useful.
For animated areas, animget is a good choice
For static elements, just isolate it and use the emulator's built in screenshot function.  Make sure it uses a lossless image format and that you don't have any filters or stretch applied.

When you have your images ready to go, take a look at the DEF file for KFM's stage, everything is commented.
