I love this idea.

I'm waiting for my password for your WordPress site; I've just registered.  I have no DA account, but I think we can manage.

I'm a long-time professional artist, but this is not my normal area.  That being said, I'm also a long-time MK fan.  I'd love to do Hornbuckle and/or Meat.

Only one per artist?

thanks for the hint, i googled and indeed it seems like he can be played via cheat..


all 80 characters are claimed since yesterday, 38 entries got drawn so far

Jarek got the probably best fan art ever made for him with this piece




Shinnok got a professional looking one i think

46 entries of the 80 are drawn and submitted already, the project was announced on 12th september. On the maybe biggest mk fan community MKO (Mortal kombat Online) people are annoyed that a project like this wasnt made there.

The last submitted entries were for Scorpion, Kia, Motaro, Kitana, Reptile (Lizardform from MKDA)

Still waiting for Thedge`s Rain entry, only 12 character entries arent submitted yet, 68 pictures were drawn by 68 artists. The project gained a bit popularity in the last weeks, today  more than 600 people visited it on game art hq thanks to articles about it on sites like rampagedreality or mksecrets.

Everyone who likes one or more of the Mk characters or Mortal kombat in general and is interested in fan art will probably see something interested on the MK Tribute Project page http://www.game-art-hq.com/the-mortal-kombat-immortal-fan-art-project/

2 days ago i announced a Street Fighter Tribute Project whcih will surpass the MK one by far in raw numbers. Not only 90 characters are included this time, all 90 can be claimed by 2 artists now instead of just one.  The 2 images will be presentated in a "VS" manner

Beside the 90 characters there are also 10 "challenges" as example  an artist has to draw Ryu Vs Ken in their SF Alpha appeareances, again 2 artists can claim these challenges, however only one  picture of the two will be published on game art hq, the winner will be determined trough a poll.

The SF project starts on Februar 12, 2012
