Very noob but very annoying problem
#1  October 16, 2009, 04:03:38 pm
Hi, i'm new in this board, hope to stick around for some time :)

I'm trying to create my own character, but i've got an issue and i can't figure out what's wrong.
My character seems to work well, but every time i throw a strong punch the palette goes berserk, and i can't really get what's the problem.
What can I do to fix this?

The order of sprites in the .sff should be

shared sprites
FX with unshared palette.

Make sure your strong punch is within the shared section and apply the palette to it properly. I think that sprite is sharing with an effect. Check, reorder, fix.

In M.U.G.E.N there is no magic button

They say a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but it's not one half so bad as a lot of ignorance.

Another pal problem...
The primary palette works perfectly on my character.
I've created a secondary palette, it works on the majority of the animations, but it isn't working for some others (i.e the hits, state 5000 and >).
The box "shared palette" is always checked.
When i try yo apply the new palette to the single frames of the animation with photoshop it works.
So waht's the problem?

You may have a sprite between your normal shared sprites and the 5000 sprites that has unshared on it. If you have an unshared sprite between them then all sprites after that will also be unshared.
Or maybe the sprites you used for those use slightly different colours and thus do not change when you only change the most used set of colours (God damn I hate when this happens, the only one to blame is the sprite ripper).

These are the two that I have only ever come across. Hope this helps.

I am trying to set up a Guardian Heroes Mugen Project. Before I do I'm trying to collect resources at http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=88937.msg770946#msg770946
I am more a sprite ripper than a character maker, but I can code well. I am always looking for projects to join. (I suck at solo projects)
I am a beta-tester and am well known for being very pedantic.
