I thought I read a post saying she uses other stuff. They probably meant other stuff and portals. But since I haven't played the game I didn't know if she was an alternate character from the main that uses portals.

Peegee, I can see her being really interesting, sortof like a super powered zangief, and she is incredibly popular, it would be a huge boost.

Jnp, chell is the silent protagonist of the game, she uses a portal gun with a grav gun option, , that and she has special shoes that prevent her from taking any damage from falls.

Chell isn't really mute. She just doesn't talk to avoid giving the satisfaction of a reaction from her to the AIs(Glados/Wheatley).

But giving her a voice anyway would be pretty awkward at this point, so....

I'm pretty sure Portal 2 established at the very beginning of the game that Chell is mute due to slight brain damage from extended hibernation in the Aperture facility (then again this wouldnt account for her being mute in Portal 1)

Michonne. There already is a good Lara Croft-char in case you guys didn't know.
And there are very few chars from TV series. Though to me she'll always be Michonne from the comics which luckily looked pretty much the same.

In case Chell wins, I'd really like for Sean to follow the advise given before in this thread:

That could be easily supplemented with GLaDOS serving as her voice in a way...so whenever she Chell win's GLaDOS could come out and insult the opponent or congratulate Chell on completing a test.

It could even be just GLaDOS commenting on her fight whenever she falls or successfully attacks in a certain way.

Her attacks could involve shooting one portal off screen and then the other one next to the enemy with a train/an army of companion cubes shooting out of it.

One of the writers for Portal 1 and 2, Eric Wolpaw, said that Chell is silent as to not give GLaDOS the satisfaction of a response. That Lab Rat comic for Portal 2 also showed Chell's test subject questionnaire, which she refused to answer. This all plays into her extreme stubbornness.

The "jump instead of saying apple" thing is either more of the same thing, or just genuine disorientation from waking up from hibernation. Brain damage is pretty unlikely, I think.

Yeah thats the part I was thinking of. Didn't know there was an actual confirmation behind it though. I just wasnt sure if they were either being serious about the whole brain damage thing (since it was brought up again later iirc) or if it was just part of the game's dark humor.
