You assumed correctly.  I read somewhere that it is possible to use my version on steam.  I'll get back to you on that if I ever manage to fix that.  I'm pretty sure that there must be other ways to do online campaigns without steam.

Armored Core Verdict Day

*spoiler alert*

I finally reached the Final Mission (I assume), which is Mission 10, fight the Verdict Day version of White Glint. It's cheap as fuck. It has 200,000 AP, which is quadruple the normal AP count, has a "force field", can use Primal Armor Attack that was last seen in AC4A, etc.

I was actually shocked to see one of these things again, because Verdict Day occurred 100+ years after the time of 4A, and damn, it's pretty big compared to the ACs in Verdict Day.

I used a tank-type AC with Auto Cannons and built-in laser cannon arm, but it just isn't enough to kill it. I had its health down to 20,000 AP, but then it wrecked me.

I need advice! :(

It's an excellent game. Addictive as hell, the competitive mode is fun and story is engaging. Saying that the game "made me take the decision of breaking up" could be exaggerated, but I can say it made me question a lot of stuff about my relationship with my girlfriend back then.

10/10 would push that fucking sheep off the platform again.

Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis)

Well, Sonic Boom sure turned out to be a travesty; Sega refused to give out review copies (yeah they knew they fucked up). But it did remind me to revisit this game.

I was never good at this game, haven't ever gotten past the 3rd world despite having it as long as I did.

It took me a while to get around it with all Emeralds but I'm glad I did. Its still great to this day.

Sonic was my very first Genesis game. I was and still get stuck at the Labyrinth Zone boss battle.

I dug chapter one, the next 2 were a bit annoying at first. Pretty fun game though, I like the idea of sneaking/hiding, seems a lot more effective here than taking enemies head on. Only time I ever really jumped or got slightly scared so far though was chapter 1 when the dude spotted me and began chasing me.

Welp, here are some things.
1) Force field? Thats a Kojima Particle Field bud. This is a NEXT.yes its final mission.
2) I suggest having an AC that can utilize power with speed. Having some ranged weapons help out on the long run. this is a powerhouse unit bud.
3) Just keep hitting and stay ranged and dodging.
I hope this helps :T

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

Funny, I was just playing that on my GBA like a week ago because a came across a bunch of old Game Boy games in a case.  Reconfirms Raichu as my favorite Pokemon.  And Chansey as my least.  Soundtrack is nice too.

Currently playing ACIV: Black Flag's Freedom Cry expansion.  Just started it, totally forgot until today that I got it when the season pass was at a discount but my copy of the game was with a friend.  I don't know why, but I miss the combat of Altair and Ezio's games.  It wasn't as fancy, but I hate having the enemy tap into a wall or an ally run in front of you of whatever breaking the combo and having to restart all over again to kill someone.

I also can't get back into ship combat.  I guess the novelty wore out with the regular game and those pain in the ass legendary ships.

I actually got to beat it yesterday, using my Defense type Tank AC that has Autocannons and H.E.A.T Weapons equipped, and with a D02 Tank UNAC supporting me. We just sprayed it and took its hits until it died, but damn, it took me a couple of tries. I'm not sure if I should try out Hardcore Mode, though.

Valkyria Chronicles Steam version

Every day I play this game, it reminds me how terrible Valkyria Chronicles 2 was, compared to this one. Oh man how I missed those maps, animations, interesting plot and characters, enjoyable challenge and reasonable way to improve your characters (fuck the diploma and material drop system of VC2). I really missed it. I'm going to take my time "A"ing everything, seriously.

I can never get those things; when I first played it I thought you were supposed to go to where it said "GOAL" (granted I was around 5).

Virtua Fighter 2

Studying early 3D modeling.
Found out that this was the first game to use motion capture and texture mapping chips, Sega really was one of a kind back then.
