The first game I beat was Super Mario Bros for the NES. First game I "finished" was the pc version of DooM. Finished meaning got 100% on all of the level stats for every map, found every secret and beat it every difficulty level.   
Daaaa....There are too many small men on this team!

Hmm... probably SMB3. I remember beating it a few times when I was pretty young. I might not have beat SMB1 until later.

I finished Wonderboy Monsterworld III for sega, and in Japanese LOL  :sugoi:.
That was such a fun game anybody else played that?

I spent my younger years with games that were really impossible to clock. They just got faster/added more enemies.

Alley Cat
Tetris
Pango
Pacman
Tapper
Flash Gordon
Sea Dragon
Bushido

AFAIK none of these had actual endings.

Moving on from that, first game i ever finished was probably Commander Keen: Invasion of the Vorticons. Commander Keen 4 and OMF2097 coming in a close second. I know i finished the first Jazz Jackrabbit a few times as well (the first episode, not the whole game)

Other than that, unbeatable games with no ending that were fun, but far too hard to beat at the tender age of 7.

Oh yes, some of the later levels of Lost Levels, at least what I played on SMB:Deluxe, were of an Every Villian is Lemons variety.

And, oddly enough, it had a convent way of gaining lives at the beginning of the game.

SF2 CE on Genesis, and Zelda Link's Awakening on Gameboy.
Never finished SMB1 nor Tetris on Gameboy when i had them.

That game took me FOREVER to beat!!! I didn't have the patience to try the harder game you unlock. Hooray for no save states back then XC

Super Mario Land was also my first when I was in kindergarten.  Beat the hard game after it too at that age.

Pretty fucking impressive now that I think about it.  I couldn't ever do that now... somehow I had more patience when I was 6 years old? :S
