I gotta, say, I liked MUGEN better when I was making Kirby characters instead of attempting to make Ren.
In my humble opinion, even if you felt strongly about working on them because of whatever issues you and DGJ had (I can't imagine what happened there), that doesn't mean you have to stop doing what you feel is fun. It's not like you have to release them once they're done, right?Who knows? Best case scenario: You might end up patching things up with the guy somewhere down the line. And even if you never do, anyone can (and should) at least appreciate the end results of the efforts that they put into their own works.

I remember starting Ren because I wanted to try something different from my older stuff. Additionally, I was getting pressured to not finish my then WIP King Dedede (before the Jared problem, certain individuals were trying to make me give up on the guy on the grounds that they "had a much better idea on how to approach the character"), so I figured I might as well take my mind off of Dedede by focusing on Ren. While I learned a lot more while coding Ren than my other two WIPs, I feel that it lacks the personality I tried to convey in my older works, and what I currently have feels like something is missing (aside from the super cancels and FX I haven't coded in yet).Cyanide said, June 10, 2008, 10:37:52 amTell me what was special about jareds system. The only rewriting in common1.cns as far as I can tell involves sound playing back on certain movements and sparks that appear, and I guess running backwards instead of dashback. I might take a break from Kirby though, and after I release Ren in one form or another (either as "complete" or as "take over this if you want, I'm tired of him"), I might try pick up Toad again.
