I'll go first:

-Generic level design

-Highly-publicized gameplay gimmicks that end up being either under-utilized or ultimately useless

-Bland graphics

-Constant advertisements (mobile games)

-Predictable plot-twists

-Uninteresting characters that show no development whatsoever

When a game's campaign is absolutely amazing, but is very short. Crysis 3 is a prime example.

Being really good at first and being fucking perfect in almost everything until the end where the game just fucks everything up and ruins a good experience because of its shit ending

Bad aesthetic.  All the great gameplay in the world doesn't matter if I don't want to spend any time in the game's world.

yeah, final fight streetwise is a great game but its design, story, and sound design kills it hard for most people, underrated PS2 gem

When it becomes luck based. Or like in PSABR, the general idea was just stupid...
Expect nothing, but remeber everything.+ I am tired. Future spot for Doraemon in MvC picture, the second I learn to create it. (Even further: Pepsiman for Mvc picture.) Insert random Doraemon anime .gif. (Also, Pac-Man Delta whaling on a MLP character .gif........) Now, Wipeout....... OTHER STUFF? Needs blue SSB 64 Mario in tornado .gif......... Add Super Mario Fighters 3 sprite here........ Also, now doing KFA stuff...

Could you please elaborate on how Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is "stupid"?

Also, you should start referring to games by their full titles instead of their acronyms. That way people will at least know what game you're talking about.

For me, blatant money grabs. Mostly in exclusives or DLC

Instead of unlocking all of a games content by playing the shit out of a title, you are expected to buy their "premium" shit out of your wallet. It's become commonplace and accepted by most, but I still find it a huge turn off from modern gaming. That can ruin my gameplay experience from the get go, because in the back of my mind is the question "If I've already spent $50 on this game, was it worth it to spend more? Did I even get my money's worth in the first place?"

I kinda hate it when indie games that use "retro graphics" and claim it's a unique art style when it's really a crutch. I understand that you don't have the resources to have character designs in a game that are any more intricate than a basic shape with eyes and limbs I really do. You don't need to bullshit me.

Also spouting internet memes, while not a totally ruining factor, annoys me. At least playing Pokemon has somewhat conditioned me against it...

It's hard to think of what really ruins a game for me besides being boring to me because even the features that have long worn out their welcome like escort missions and QTEs can be done in a way that works.

I'm also under the impression that people keep neglecting data from the game, do you guys know how PotS made his original characters? He actually studied every single game he referenced, down to the core. Doing this properly requires understanding how the original system was made, not just winging it.

For me, it's three little words:

FREE
TO
PLAY

Okay, maybe it's not something that totally ruins a game, but it is something of a double-edged sword IMO. On one hand, you're having fun without paying a dime. But on the other hand, some of that game's more enticing features are locked away behind a price tag. It's probably just me, but I really don't know where I stand when it comes to this model.

DLC when its fucktarded and blatantly an excuse to rush a game out. Especially when you price the DLC way too fucking much (Blazblue Chronophantasma selling fucking on-disc Terumi for £4.79 was dumb)

Memes being used as a crutch for humour instead of actually racking you brain for original funny material. If ASB2 even once has the "IT WAS ME DIO LOLOLOL" meme or any references to Kakyoin wanking to mothers I am throwing the fucking game in the bin.

References to other anime, films, games and shit for the sake of it, Not only does it remind me of better games I could be playing or better media I could be watching but it really just comes across as a roundabout vote of no confidence in your own ability to come up with something funny or cool. It gives me a poor opinion of you as a writer if you have to rely on someone else to do the work for you.
