I had two.

I took this M Bison I found in some rar file I torrented, ripped the sprites, gave him a mustache, switched his psycho crusher sprites with a tank, and called him stalin.

Then I took this cvs M Bison, gave him a smaller mustache, and edited his intro and stand so he would always be doing the sig heil, and called that one Hitler.

How about you? what's your first, no matter how awful, edit?

I took Cirio's Mr. Karate, edited the head, added some moves, changed a few, took off some others, changed the voice, added some flashy DURIMU CANCERUS, and called it Marco Rodriguez.

First edit... I know I had this shitty Captain Commando by Nevermind and I was adding in missing frames.... then I requested Splode's and finally got that and dropped it.

As for my first public release, it was a character called Niggah from the flash game Jungle Cock: THE GAME. I released it to make fun of racism and to see how many of those wannabe gangstas in the community I could piss off. It succeeded. I'd link to the topic but Val doesn't have the archive back up yet.

I wouldn't consider that a infinite since you have to make your opponent bounce of the wall and if you do it on the wrong side of the stage the stage interaction would activate.

YUP!!! i remember it took me forever how to make a portrait, ermacwon had to explain to me back then like 500 times.

First edit was Knuckles by Ssonic. I gave him a 15 hit combo punch. This wasn't released it was just me learning shit.

First actual creation was Gotenks from Hyper Dimension. He turned out rather well.

I took a shitty Bulma character based off a single screen shot from the SB1 intro IIRC, then turn into a piece of shit Bulma with more shitty supers on top, I also recolored her shirt white.

Sadly, I did release it...... Back in 2000 so no one remembers/cares anyway I hope.

My first edit was of Magus' Chris Redfield that never got released. I added some specials that were not coded yet. I recently deleted him because he was still junk and I don't feel like fixing him. As for public release, I'll soon be releasing two MvC-esque patches for Eagle (Capcom vs SNK) and Gou Habiki (N64Mario) that were originally personal edits.

Mine was a sprite swaped Nash that I turned into batman. Later I actually changed it to a batman, using more of P.o.T.S code. I never did fix those required animations.

Cybaster is working on a hi-res, well coded version now.

Ha.  I loved that link edit. 


The first actual thing I tried to do was make a single image into a stage.  I stumbled upon a picture of a race car with Morrigan designs on it and I thought it'd be cool to fight in front of. 

Well I was trying to learn by doing and couldn't get indexing to work. 
After a while of trying out different things, I got it right by accident and then didn't like the scale of the car compared to the fighters.  Shrinking the image to make the car look better made the stage to narrow to cover the screen. 

So I scrapped it. 


I gave up the idea of trying to make stuff until HankVenture and Kakuto convinced me to try again. 

Then I read the docs and made Tekken 3 hitsparks which I felt were made well, just never released them.

First Edit — Warusaki3's SVC Mr. Karate, set exceeds to infinite, lowered hitpausetime on some moves, added transparency to FX, turned super ultimate conquering crush into a special move [ which is how it's originally supposed to be ], recoded a playsnd or 2, I basically edited him to resemble the xbox version of SVC, lot of differences [ excluding infinite exceeds and super ultimate conquering crush originally being a special ], I learned slowly and untraditionally by experimenting rather than reading

First char I made, Soma Cruz EX, the release thread got bombarded with ugly sprites replies. Looking back I don't blame them I did make the sprites from jpeg-based rips.  :smash:

Some time after that Ryon told what my problem was and how to fix it, shows how much I knew when I started lol.
