why can we still post in the archive?

some sfo guy posted his response to reu's oh god topic in there yesterday and some other stuff was posted there yesterday as well. 

also can we search the archive and just the archive somehow?

Click archive "tab" above then do search.  Lets you only search the archive forum.

doesn't work it still only searches the main forum.  unless i am missing something...I clicked the archive tab then the search tab and results from the new forum popped up and only those.  I also tried the search bar.

Did you try advanced search?  It shows the matching board that way.

the url for the search says advanced and the board names that pop up are the current ones...pretty sure I am doing it right...

Okay, I see what you mean.  Regular search is just the new forum.  Archive search is archive + regular results.

wow for a minute there I thought I was doing something horribly retarded...shouldn't archive search be just archived posts and no new stuff at all?

...what's the problem? archive is excluded from normal search, that seems perfectly reasonable to me :P

That's something I complained about approximately every third day while I was browsing as a guest here...

But Valodim's argument sounded convincing: the number of guests is pretty high throughout the day, I would guess around 40 to 150 depending on time and day and so on--

and searching is "bad" for performance. :/
