winmugen has stopped working, help!

i just bought a brand new computer with windows 7 but it seems that mugen wont run on it. it runs until the select screen then it just freezes and an error message pops up saying mugen has stopped working. can anyone help me? or will it not work with windows 7? ive already tried changing the res in mugen.cfg and running it as admin so any other advice that will help me make this game work would be awsome. however this problem only happens when im using a large roster.

alright! after testing many things and research ive finally found the problem and id like to share it with everyone using windows 7. it simply turns out that it was an mp3 plugin problem in the plugins folder. i disabled it in the mugen.cfg file and it worked but it would no longer play music so now im in a search for a new plugin that mugen supports for music and will work with windows 7. any suggestions?
