WinMugen Plus crashes when I use music (.mp3 files) on stages

Hi all,

I've been making my own screenpack and just finished, so the next thing I did was to try and use some mp3 files for the stages I downloaded. The mp3 files are 1.3MB - 4MB in size.

Problem is, after I put the music in (editing the stage's .def file) and run Winmugen, the program crashes in less than a second right at the start of the stage even before "round 1" is said, the music during this short period sounded messed up as well - repeating skipping before the Windows XP error message comes up.

The default plugin does this so I tried switching to in_mp3PRO.dll, result is still the same, just crashes the same way.

Can anyone tell me what I did wrong? Is the music conflicting with the sound of the announcer or something? Any ideas on how to fix it?

mp3 music format is the worst music file extention for mugen.

convert it to ogg or something.

I only have Midis, and for some reason in normal Mugen music plays, but in WINmugen plus, there is no music atall!? :/
