Xbox 360 Merchandise Purchasing Indecisiveness

Heh, I create palettes. Tell me if you want some.

Problem #1:
This is an opinion topic, I'm wondering which version of the Xbox 360 should I buy/get, the normal version(including two games) or the Arcade version? Here are the statistics of both consoles, (including the Elite version which in my opinion is too expensive at the time):

EDIT:Here are the reasons of my indecisiveness, the normal can play original Xbox games (from the old Xbox) , has the network cable and AV cable, and has 20 GB. While the Arcade console comes with 5 arcade classic games and is less expensive. By the way, I want to get Dead or Alive 3 and 4, but just purchasing DOA 4 would be okay but I'm still not sure. $:-\$ Also, the Xbox 360 can encounter the infamous red circle of death which seems quite frustrating, but I think that Microsoft already fixed that.

Problem #2:
Here's the next damn problem. It's a little more simple (I hope). Anyways, I'm wondering what type of controllers I should have, Wireless or just the normal ones with Wires? I'm having trouble deciding due to my younger siblings possibly wrecking the wired controllers by biting or wrapping the wires around the controller, me my mother and sister vacuuming and road killing wires, if I buy those types of controllers. Or should I buy the Wireless controllers which are $10 dollars more?

You want to avoid the red rings of death? I've seen some people at this forum claim that the Xbox 360 Elite doesn't get the red rings. But then again, I still see people making topics about the red rings at IGN's XBOX360 lobby.

Me personally, I would get the XBOX360 Elite. Only because it's supposed to be the most reliable version.

The 360 arcade version is definitely the tard pack. It comes with a 256MB memory card, but no hard drive. That means no downloadable content/demos. You want to play Dead or alive 3? Take a look at the bottom of the chart. The arcade version doesn't have backwards compatibility.

I would recommend that you get the Xbox 360 $349.99 version. Sooner or later, you're going to want to download things and a headset is always good for online play.

Anyway Kensou You can get anyone you want Most of the new shipments have the Falcon chip and are more stable being that they are now glued in. Wwhen you do make you purchase get the 90 day warranty so you can take it back to any target store or wherever so you won't have to wait. I had my 360 since March of 06 and i get nothing but the GROL.

This is true. Unforturnate if you do get the RROD your obviously damaging your own system cause the Elites Chips are glued in to the board. When you make you purchase check the box and see if the corners are bent. That mean that the boxes were manhandle and tossed about.

I don't think so. He clearly states in the first post that the Elite is too expensive.

Which one should he get, the premium 360 or the arcade version? He says that he wants to get Dead or Alive 3 which is an XBOX 1 game. The arcade XBOX360 does not have backwards compatibility, so the obvious choice would be the Xbox 360 $349.99 version.

Well, thanks for the help guys, I'm going to get the premium then. I really want to buy DOA 4 and 3 since DOA 3 is $4.99 at my local game store. Thanks for helping me decide once again everyone.

I suggest you get the PS3 lol. It's friggin $400 right now! I think in late november or early december, they're gonna jack the prices up again, so get it while it's hot. and if you really calculate it, even the $600 PS3 is cheaper then the 360. With the 360, you have to buy the wi-fi and all and the monthly five dollars; with PS3, you get all of that with it, free internet browsing as well. Hell, I'm typing from my PS3 lol. I would rant about it more, but I'm not getting any profit advertising the PS3 so, yup yup.

I got the 349 one.

And on the topic of PS3...
I'm gonna wait a while, until they give it a realistic price and Sony decides to take it's head out of the dirt and actually make some games for the damn thing.

Agreed, I haven't seen or heard of any good games for the PS3, sourlucas. There's plenty of great games for the Xbox 360 though, such as Dead or Alive 4 and 3 (due to backward compatibility for DOA 3), Burnout 4, Forza Motor sport, and some other games I can't think of right now. The only good game I can think of for the PS3 currently is MGS4/Metal Gear Solid 4, which hasn't been released yet.

I see your points oz and kensou. I would admit, there aren't a lot of hot games out there for PS3 now, but within the end of january or february, it is said that the PS3 will dominate the next-gen consoles by a lot. PS3 exclusives will seriously destroy all the next-gen consoles

. Even an article from gameinformer predicted that, too. Yes, the 360 probably dominates as of now b/c of more games released, but the PS3 will soon be dominant. games like little big planet, Killzone 2, SF4 (for both), ratchet and clank, jak 4, smackdown vs raw 08, MGS4, and the other fps's , etc. will surely kill off the other consoles. I could be wrong though. The 360 may kill the PS3 if sony doesn't hurry the fuck up with releases either lol

. Oh, I forgot to mention final fantasy 13 and kingdomhearts 3, but i think it's gonna be called something else.

probably way to late but the only thing keeping the arcade version from backwards compatibility is the lack of hard drive. all 360's have the capability you just need a hard drive to get it done

a 120 gig hardrive goes for 160 at amazon...and the 350 dollar one comes with a 20 gig by default...

can't seem to find the lower-end gig hard drives on individual sale, so it comes down to this

If you want to play Xbox360 and old xbox games: get the 350 bundle
if you just want an Xbox360: get the arcade bundle
