Have they told backers how to vote yet? I'm assuming it hasn't started. Have not gotten an email about voting and it isn't in their updates page.

I don't know if I want to vote for Chiriakuta or Qadl though =(

How to Vote for the 3rd & 4th Characters

We had a few inquiries about how to vote for new characters following yesterday's update. Instructions are on the Yatagarasu AC campaign page, but here they are for your convenience!

The 3rd and 4th new characters will be decided by voting by backers. Backers: please send an email to yatagarasuacvote@gmail.com, with subject “Vote” in the subject line and include your name, contribution amount, and character you would like to vote for (Nene, Aja, Qadl, or Chiriakuta) .

$1 of contribution will count for 1 vote, and the characters with the highest votes will be added to the game.

Thank you!

Wait a minute ... so the vote of those who donated more will count more?

Meaning that the character is decided in money value?

i think you can split your vote 500-500 to make sure your characters both end up there.

According to this, there's 3 female characters and 5 male characters.
http://www.giantbomb.com/yatagarasu/3030-38196/characters/

Forcefully we get Kotaro and Azure, to balance this to 4 female / 6 male. So ... bring the balance closer to GENDER equality, or keep the females in the Kitchen making sandwiches? WE GOTTA USE MORE INFO!

Qadl was once a singer and dancer with deep love of poetry and wine, but fell into deep depression when her husband and children were lost in the civil war. Wandering in despair, she came to a village called Faraguit (“The Hidden Gardens”) which belonged to an organization of assassins called “Bahrain’s Long Winter” and was a training camp for assassins. Now her four limbs have become weapons that she is able to stretch and retract at will. Now, in these troubled times, she has arrived in Japan to assassinate Aja Salisbury.

Fighting Style: Qadl is a long range specialist and has the longest reach of all of the characters. In addition to long-range attacks, she will be able to transform parts of her body to use to make unpredictable close range attacks.
“Tell me, isn’t my honey delicious? Doesn’t it take you back to when you were born?”

Chiriakuta does not know how he came to be, how long he has existed, or what his purpose is. His cravings know no bounds and he absorbs whatever comes into reach. He creeps around, seeking to capture the ‘Black Beast’, a calling that was born from nothing. He toys with his opponents using moves derived from the baseless chaos.

Fighting Style: Chiriakuta's unique characteristic is that he can defy gravity. We plan for him to move like a dancer. As our ‘wild card’ character, we’re planning a variety of outlandish moves for him.
“I eaaaat alllllll. Givvvvve meeeee morrrrrrrre.”

The underlined part makes all the difference. Qadl's storyline depends on another character which may or may not show up = Aja Salisbury. We'd need to have reached the stretch goal for the 4th character to have both of them ... whereas Chiriakuta is a standalone crazy piece of shit, who'd keep Chadha company as the oddballs of this game.

... WINNER IS CHIRIAKUTA!

The underlined part is a good point. It takes away a lot if she is after some random story character that isn't in the game.

1008 votes towards Chiriakuta just emailed.

Announcing the 3rd New Character for Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm!

Thank you for supporting our campaign and for voting for the new characters. The results of voting are now in, so here we go with the announcement of the winner.

The character that ranked #1, with the highest number of votes is…

                                              *** Aja Salisbury! ***

Aja received the highest number of votes and so will be added as our 3rd new character to Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm! Development on her will begin soon!

Here are the results and comments from the Yatagarasu dev team for each of the candidate characters.

1st Place: Aja (14,524 votes)
From the start of the campaign until the end, Aja received strong support from contributors at every donation level. However, she was particularly popular among contributors making high donations, and so she achieved an unbeatable lead.
One thing we’d really like to know for future reference in developing her is what was it about Aja that attracted people to vote for her? Was it something about her looks, her story, or fighting style? Maybe the fact that she has had much adversity in life? Please drop us a note in the comments and let us know!

2nd Place: Nene (11,211 votes)
Nene ended up at 2nd place. There is a clear trend in the voting for Nene: she was at the bottom of the ranking with almost no votes at the start of the campaign, but she came screaming back at the end of the campaign, all the way to second place.
Nene was actually number one in terms of the number of people who voted for her! However, insufficient support from the backers with high contributions meant that she fell short of the top spot.

3rd Place: Chiriakuta (11,058 votes)
Chiriakuta was at a disadvantage in this voting scheme as we revealed relatively little about him or how he plays. Still, he put up a good fight, ending just behind Nene at 3rd place.
Chiriakuta had the smallest number of contributors voting for him, but he did have the support of some contributors making high donations and managed to make up for the number of actual supporting voters.

4th Place: Qadl (7,097 votes)
Poor Qadl ended up with the least votes. Our presmuption is that Qadl’s support came from backers who took the view that her fighting style and techniques would provide important additions to the overall balance of the game. However, her overall appeal is probably weaker than the other characters.

Obviously Aja won because the game lacked a blonde woman. I ain´t even mad, actually anyone could win for me. I really liked all the designs for the future characters :) this could have been a good chance to add Qadl since Aja forms part of its history but the goal wasn´t reached so that´s ok too.

So, the game won´t have a physical copy right?? I could get this through PSN, right?? right??

I knew nene was going to be the most popular one, I have a good eye for this kind of stuff :D

Sadly poverty backers didn't have enough money for her to win so whatever :P. Aja winning was quite a surprise for me.

Aja's style is actually what makes her interesting to me, but that's because I don't like "freak" fighting styles.
If I struggled to the end of my determination, to the end of my way of life with my followers, if the result is ruin, then this ruin is inevitable. Grieve. Shed tears. But you cannot regret.
