These are my first Mugen projects, Kon and Byakuya from Bleach DS 2nd. I've tried to stay as accurate as I can to Bleach DS's combat system. I've included Readmes with command lists and an explanation of Bleach DS concepts, so please give that a read before you try them out. I'm also trying to set this up as completely as I can so I have a good basis to start making other Bleach characters once I'm finished.

He seems close to Kon gameplay.

Love his Kondukens and his sounds are crisp.

You did an excellent job for a beta my friend.

I do, it just wasn't a high enough priority compared to coding.

I added Damage Cancelling, but I don't know how to get it to work with multiple opponents (since it can't be activated if the opponent hitting Kon is doing a Super/Hyper, and I don't know how to check that). Hmm...

Nice dude ^^, Im Liking this I like the whole Chargebar thing, and i like the Button Layout. Not really any super apparent glitches, but i havent really done an In Depth Look into Him, And the few i did see you already Stated ><. Well nice job Good Luck to finishing him ^^

How are you checking the velocities and such for you attacks?

as far as I know no ds emus work with the bleach 2nd rom..

Actually, one does. I'd need that to rip the sprites anyway, right?

Updated with version 0.85. A few more bugfixes, added damage scaling, added a HitOverride to his special movement so he resists one hit before going into hitstun. (Still gets paused, takes damage for that hit)

I think I'm done implementing all of Bleach DS's mechanics, the only thing left is fixing the rest of the bugs and adding the remaining Specials/Supers.

Note: Holding back does not guard any more. You have to use the R (Z) button, making him recommended for playing with a controller. If enough people ask I'll include a way to turn guarding with back on.

Thank you for the update and I understand it and I'm used to the gameplay like that.

Perhaps though do make one for people who arn't used to the gameplay.

As a sorta side patch if you will.

Fine job so far and hope to see possibley more Bleach based characters from you.

Updated with version 0.93. Phew, almost done. Added an uppercut special and super, fixed cH launcher and SU-A holding the opponent still, and fixed a lot of other things, mostly stuff you wouldn't notice easily.

Does anyone have a list of community defined anim standards? I think there was one on here a while ago... And I would like to reserve the numbers 6616700 and 6616701 (and possibly a few in a row after those) if they're not being used as a check for character's to see if they conform to some BDS specific systems I set up. (6616700 checks if a character is from BDS (using that right now to allow damage canceling when paralyzed), and 6616701 is for my system for having characters in special movements able to be hit by RF attacks; RF Attacks are similar to SF3 EX Attacks)

The old topic was deleted when KFM erased almost all his posts from the Guild. This new one is mostly about KOF for now, but you could try to import your new standard there. ;)

It's a really interresting character you've got here. I've never b=played Bleach DS, but you really seem to know what you're doing with your stuff. Plus, I love Kon. :)

Updated to version 0.98. Kon's nearing completion now. ^__^
Added the rest of his attacks, a super pause animation, portraits, and some other graphics things. Only thing left is a few bugs to iron out and a few graphics (notably dust kicked up by running, landing, etc, and palettes lol)

Please point out any problems if you spot them, I don't want to release a v1.0 that isn't complete. :D

He's a great character BwdYeti.

I think you stuck to the gameplay pretty well.

It's sad though something like this which sticks to the source game of so well gets ignored.

Funny though I'm useing your other yutube videos in help in making my own.

Seeing as my emulator runs like shit.  :P

Anyways you're doing excellent and as far as I can tell Kon is great. Nothing is ever perfect.

I really can't find much wrong with Kon.

His CLSN's are nice. You have them perfectly coverd and simple.

Attack CLSN's have perfect range over them so they don't have priority and his overall abilty to play never seems to be hendered in anyway.

Although it looks like some of his run sprites(at least thats what I thought they were in his air file) looked without CLSN's.

All in all a great job and I hope to see some more Bleach characters of your own.

That's the animation for his wake up jump, he's supposed to be invincible and pass through opponents during that.

Lol. I'm still trying to get the Bleach DS2nd gameplay down.

ROMS suck for me on the computer so I'm going by Alchemist and friends help.

Is that too big? I should probably reduce the sound quality to make it smaller if it is. :o

Updated first post with a beta of Byakuya. I think I'm actually going to finish Byakuya before Kon since I'm changing some things around, and Kon is still 99.9% playable right now anyway.

You did a great job Byakuya so far.

His shunpo is fun to use when comboing but I can't wait to see the full Bleach DS combos added so he can properly aerial rave.

I'm serious in saying this is basicly ripped from sound to sprite from the game.

Can't wait for the next update.  :sugoi:

Actually, he can fully air combo now. Kung Fu Man just has terrible air hitboxes. Against another Byakuya it works perfect. What I'm having trouble with is TAFS combos. (Where you shunpo forward and up, do aerial light/medium, aerial medium/heavy, land, run immediately, and hit them with a standing light before they recover) I can't seem to get him to run to happen fast enough for the attacks to link. I think I might need to put custom physics in aerial attack states so if he lands and you pressed fwd fwd/back back recently he goes straight to running.

I just updated Byakuya to v0.65, he has Rikujou Kourou now (Stun Rods) and some other fixes to make TAFS (to air flash step) combos easier and make him play more like he does in BDS. In team mode you can target the Rods by using light or heavy to target enemy one, and medium to target enemy two.

Also, I reuploaded Kon to have some very minor fixes, mostly to be compatible with Byakuya. (Since I changed a few of my standards with Byakuya) If you haven't, go into Training mode, pick Kon and Byakuya, do an RF attack with Kon and try to shunpo through it with Byakuya. :D

EDIT: And I just realized I didn't put hitboxes on Byakuya during Rikujou Kourou, so he was invincible before. I'm an idiot lol. Please redownload if you got him before this edit.

EDIT AGAIN: I messed something else up lol. Fixed that and added taunt sounds.

It's all good.

Invincibilty doesn't hurt sometimes.  :sugoi:

I do like the accuracy but I do speed him up a bit to play with some higher speed characters besides that I'm glad he finally has a little long range attack to help with some projectile hors.  :ninja:

I only tested the old version of Byakuya.

This is a nice start, even though he doesn't have any specials nor supers yet.
I know you're trying to make evrything accurate, but I think you could propose an alternate cns file so that he jumps faster (he's really slow in the air, as if he was on the moon). Plus, his running speed doesn't match the animation : he has a real running anim but his speed is that of a turtle. :(

Anyway, since I know nothing about Bleach DS, I'll be waiting for all his moves, to see if he in fact needs some speed or not.

Updated Byakuya, he has Senka (teleslash) and one super now. Overhauled his facing system quite a bit too, but that shouldn't be very noticeable. Also added a corner pushback system, I'm almost certain it's exact to Bleach DS (the default Mugen system is confusing and not as useful as I'd like. It'd help if you could choose for friction to act like an acceleration instead of a multiplier)

Hm. Kay, I've reuploaded Kon with a remade Snd that's a bit lower in quality. I can't really hear the difference but it's about 10 MB smaller. I'll lower the quality of Byakuya's when he's done if his Snd gets too big, too (and I expect it to)

Yeah, but anyway, 17mo for just the sound file was way too much. It takes place in the computer for nothing.

Tested the last version of Byakuya, everything plays nicely so far. I've spoted absolutely no bugs. :)

Found a small bug in his damage counter(?)



Sorry about the lifebars in the way.

I was playing as him and countered Ichigo's attack and he got stuck till he got hit.

I think you're guard canceling into his yet uncoded QCF state. I left a lot of stuff in the cmd for attacks I haven't made yet so I could edit it later instead of having to remake it.

Oh, I was actualy playing threw on my reguler MUGEN.  :sugoi:

It happened and I thought it was a error and pressed ctrl+d to see if any de-bug info came up.  ;D

Updated Byakuya to V0.80. He has Senbonzakura special, a simple AI, and some graphics stuff fixed. Also palettes! :o

I tested version 0.80, and I must say it's really nice. Since I know nothing about the game, seeing the AI perform the moves as they should be allowed me to understand how he's supposed to be played. :)

Lifebars aren't conpletely finished yet, so I'll leave comments later.

You really know what you're doing, and your chars are bug free. Good job. ;)

Hueg update.

Updated Byakuya to v0.9, he now has Senkei (really fun to mess around with) and a bunch of generic stuff I put off adding. Dust from running/jumping and a bunch of bugfixes basically.

Started on a new character, Madarame Ikkaku. Now at v0.3, he has all normals added. I started him now for a reason, which should become apparent as I get further along. :D

First off Byakuya is Lovely Really hard to find errors in him, and He his just flat out cool. Ikkaku is also really good, and the only glitches i found in him were that i some how glitched him into a crouch state dont know how i did it, but somehwo i made it where he was stuck in crouch state and couldnt be hit. Also I some how glitched him into a infinite walk backwards state as in he wouldnt stop walking backwards no matter what. Other then that Ikkaku seems to be coming along nicely. Also you characters create WAY to many explods. I Put Byakuya and Ikkaku against each other and everything was all glitchy and all there effects dissapeared and Wow. Luckily i then read the read me and incresed the amount of explods that can be created. Well other then that all of your stuff is lovley, and is all coming along really nicely. I Wish you good Luck to your future projects, and I may plan on Making a Bleach Ds2nd  character using your template sometime in the near future. Good Job and Good Luck  ;D

Edit: Also i cant wait for Kanonji and Ukitake Im sure they will be just as great as Kon, Byakuya, and Ikkaku. Also I think you have officially made me quit Production on My Ikkaku  :'(. Yours is just so Much better then mine that i really have No Motivation to complete mine, but atleast in the end ill have a good Ikkaku.

You shouldn't have to change the config in mugen to make these characters work right(Unless its DragonClaw or something).These are simple characters, and they don't have many FX.

Hey Rice/Tetsuo/9999 This is a quote from BWDs Read-Me File

"Apparently my Reiryoku gauge is using more Explods than the game intially recommends. For it to show up correctly you need
     to increase the number of Explods that can be displayed in Mugen.cfg"

Also when you put 2 of his characters against each other as in Kon+Byakuya Vs. Ikkaku+My Ikkaku You end up with a very glitchy Battle.  :-\

Not as simple as you would think if you're trying to go for accuracy which he is getting dead on with compared to Bleach DS the 2nd.

Not like it made a diffrence to my MUGEN.cfg.

I have a good sized RAM and turning it up a bit actual has improved my game oddly..should of known of that sooner.  :P

Really it's all too low since the old numbers are for computers several years ago. Too bad they put a limit on helpers though. D:

Anyway, updated Ikkaku to v0.5; He has Bankai now. :D

Ikkaku updated to v0.8, he has 2 full specials and the light of another special, and I fixed some major bugs that caused crashes in 2v2. :o

I should get him to v.95 or even v1.0 soon, and I'll make another vid then to show how to properly use his specials in combos. :D

Very nice character, as usual. This character is yet another impressive one, with solid gameplay, nice graphics and absolutely no bugs from what I could see.

Only grip would be the scale of this smoke sprite, which looks quite ugly :


Apart from that, pretty perfect. I fail to see why there aren't more comments about your work, because it's really very very good. :S
Good luck and good continuation, I'll be waiting to see some other Bleach awesomeness. :)
