There are 2 types of people in this world; those that can remember stuff, and... umm I forgot the other type.

It's time to take a trip to the recycle bin. And once you're there I'm going to right click on it and select Empty Recycle Bin, because otherwise you'd be taking up unnecessary space.

The music was better for the genesis though (for MK1 and MK2 at least).

why is the color THAT bad?

There's nothing he can do about that unless he recolors it (waste of time)
Dude, it's Mortal Kombat Genesis...go figure.

When this game came out for the home consoles back in the day gamers were faced with two choices. Buy the SNES version with close to Arcade graphics, so-so sound and NO blood or Arcade Fatalities or buy the Genesis version with the True Arcade Gameplay experience and a few thrown in easter eggs...but Crappy quality. It was really Midways way of sticking it to Nintendo in the end for having them patch up their masterpiece.

...and that my friend is why the colors are THAT bad.

Those white shadows are kicking my ass. LoL

At least the SNES port of MKII was a massive improvement over the SNES port of MK. I also enjoyed the hell out of it more than I did the Genesis version. Sound, graphics, and control just felt more on par with the arcade than the Genesis version.

[EDIT]
I still prefer the arcade version over all of them though.

Yeah...the Genesis was famous for those white shadows in some stages. lol

and yes...Nintendo clearly learned their lesson by the time MK2 came to the SNES...making it the best fucking port of that game...even better than the Playstation's because the SNES had NO loading times. I really wasted a lot of my time playing that MK2 SNES port...so much I even found some bugs. Tongue

but those 2 stages are miss colored.

the portal is a orange color, it was NEVER that deep of a blue, nor was the floor or the monk in the background.

goro's lair is close but the color is still off, of the off white.

Taking into account that the one shot is a jpeg, the blue looks fine to me.

Thanks for the release.  I always liked MK portal stages.

Exactly. When you fight Smoke, the portal stage is dark blue.

The color is right on that Goro's Lair...Dude, it's the Genesis port. You already saw the white shadows, so this goes to show the level of detail they were limited to having pushed the envelope from an Arcade game to a 16bit home console back then. Still, Mortal Kombat 2 benefited from much less quality loss on the Genesis...but it couldn't simply compare to the SNES MK2 port.

I remember liking MK2 on the Genesis more than the SNES version. I can't say how it is now, as I don't have MK2 for the genesis now.

Ironically enough, I hated Genesis MK3.

You're right, but when you fight Smoke (hidden char) the stage was blue.

You thought of the regular version.

When you are in the portal stage, keep doing uppercuts until you see a toasty. Then press down+start while dan forden is on the screen (must be fast).
