I believe it was an image which linked to his video.
Embed videos is only done in the video thread. I think it's to avoid cluttering topics with thousands of videos and making loading times insane at times.

Can we have video embedding in the Mugen Videos thread in Mugen Discussion? It would make it alot easier to actually browse that thread and a single extra thread with embedding shouldn't cause excessive load times.

Nobody hates YouTube spam more than this white man, but I think it would be useful to have the ability to embed vids in the releases board. I doubt anyone would spam vids.
My computer isn't too great (and I'm sure I'm not alone) and it's a lot easier for me to view a vid through a forum as opposed to opening a full tab for YouTube.

If it's possible, it eventually will happen.

IMO, simply using links at least keeps the viewing optional - you can always save the link to check it later after a reboot.

i like somethingawful's way of handling embedded video. it gives the user a choice in the control panel

Show video embedded in posts with the [video] tag?
Selecting "no" will show a hyperlink instead.

We should have a thread that allows youtube videos to be embed. Kinda like a off topic thread or something like that and if spamming videos does happen (which I doubt) then just take it off, but no harm in trying it out..

It would be nice if you could do that in the releases topic, the rest doesn't really matter.
It's kinda lame to post a link to the character video instead of embedding.

Forcing the video to load isn't all that handy - I personally prefer the option of only loading it if I click.

Hmm there seems to be some demand about this... how about this:

maybe allow the poster to add "force" to the tag so it is shown directly, for character threads etc. experience suggests people don't use such features anyways
