That fully explains why someone who made an emulator would even think about letting you choose the background color instead of the usual 0/0/0 black that blends in perfectly with many sprites. WinKawaks has been my favorite CPS/NG emulator for years.

Yeah, Kawaks is pretty damn sprite-ripper friendly in that regard, though for some reason, HCF/HCB motions are more difficult in Kawaks than in FBA (I have a great deal of difficulty getting Geese to do an Atemi Nagi or a Raging Storm in Fatal Fury Special through Kawaks, but have no problems doing so in FBA), so for now, I stick with FBA (the newest version disables dipswitch configuration, and forces FFS' settings to be Japanese region, Level 8, making the game otherwise a hell of a lot more difficult).
