ShugenDo is one of this so called Clone project of mugen but its not a 100% clone
is more like the next gen of mugen or try to be so  ;)

You can get the latest version on
www.sakirsoft.com

Currently ShugenDo has a good compatiblity with MUGEN chars.
ShugenDo use a new ScreenPack system and is easy to configure and breaks up with the old ini format like
cfg files of MUGEN.
The whole engine is desgined for 640x480 also in menus too.
And for the fight engine ist like always doublerez = 4

It supports 3 Rendering modes
D3D rendering
OpenGl rending ( also for linux )
and Software Rendering which is not recommanded.
Currently the Opengl render is not public

ShugenDo has an mixed mode between highrez mode and scale2x in OpenGl but this will be also be
aviable in D3D.

The Menu System supports True Type fonts and Unicode Text rendering( the font system is not complete yet)
And it is possible to change the language of ShugenDo with language file which are in XML format.
You can also select different ScreenPack on the fly in the optionmenu. The clue is each screen pack has its own Charset.

Currently ShugenDo is supported on Windows.
But i will also release an  PC Linux version,PS3 Linux version and a PSP version.

here are some screen shots.

Here screen from this mixed mode

Cool, now there are more possibilities. Is it open or closed source?

LOL @ proton cannon, but a DREAMCANCEL pic too would have been priceless.
Many MUGEN creators are now part of elitist circles who barely progress anymore and keep mostly to themselves. INTERNET. SERIOUS BUSINESS.

IMO the best thing you have done is switching some formats to XML.
And, you think it will be possible to port it to GP2X?

Ahh good that you mention ports.
I think it can be ported nearly to all plattforms wich supports SDL.
Also the GP2X.
But to port anything i need the platform.So i need a Gp2X
I am thinking about an donation link.So i can buy me those platforms and port ShugenDo
I need a PSP,PS3 and now a GP2x

Hello SakirSoft.. I recall (from your old OpenMUGEN forums), that you were, planning a
Xbox port. Is that statement still in effect?  :-\

Question will it be able to make hires backgrounds or only the fighters are hires?, and can it do the zoom in and out feature, where each character goes to each end of the stage and the camera zooms out.

Yes but i want to use the openXdk for that and not MS XDK.

Yes high rez stage will be supported bt i am not sure about that zooming feature
beacuse some chras use the fact that a char only can walk bewteean 0 - 240 pixels on screen

Well i have a question about the online part. Everybody's mugen is different. Will there be a global screenpack(Default) for online mode or something like that? And how will we connect?? Server or ip? If you can actually pull online off relatively lag free you will be a god! Im sure network mode is the last thing on your list though! Also im not sure if you answered this or not but do you plan on adding tag mode?

It will be sever based and i am thinking of online packs.
So every one should have the same online pack.

An online pack descripes a set of chars which every one have to have.
It is a bit difficult to implement char downloading from each other because it would
be with out the premission of the char author....

Well aint online packs gonna require permission from creators?
Since online packs automaticly supose u are using someones char

My idea is to automaticly download the char from the other player via IP in a folder called temp (or whatever) and after the network session is over the temp folder becomes empty

Doing so u (I) do not remain with chars u wouldn't want :D ....
What do u think?

And i really don't like the idea with a server since it would be a lot more easyer to have a direct connection with someone from my own city (block) then through a server from Argentina (or Bulgaria).

He means like a sever that is a list. You could pick to join a game. Or create one of your own. You could still play with people from your own city, just setup your own server. Of course I could be wrong, but i think this is what Sakir has told me in the past.

but you have to think of the people who would connect for a game session just to get chars into the temp folder and then copy them over to thier mugen folder before the session ends....

Hey i didn't think about that.
But then what should we do , it is bound that both computers need the same character to work properly in network.
So i say let's let Sakir think about what he wants to do with his own project.
