Snake and Cloud are bigger unnoficial PS1 mascots than Crash could ever hope to be - he was too "forced" to actually work.

Also, be glad Brazil actually gets some representation at all in fighting games - Capoeira and Brazillian Jujitsu are at least styles that can come to mind of most people with some interest in martial arts, and can eventually be used in interesting character designs even if some known precedents can be embarassing to people who live there. Most countries don't even get that.

If Monica were to be a charcter in the game (Akari base?), who'd be the striker? Sansão works more like a weapon, Cebolinha is too much of a declared rival, and Cascão's smell might as well work as a full-screen instant KO move =P

But Blanka adds the shitty background with the shitty design. If the brazilian character was a indigenous witch doctor or warrior, yes, steriotypical, but, could be a lot better. C'mon, India 's character is a teleporting, fire breathing rubber man, Russia, a furry giant with one of the most awesome moves ever seen in a fighting game, and Brazil? A dumb green feral man who learned to shock people with the electric eels. Even Golrio was better.

Also, no one knows Blanka is really brazilian, he was a boy called Jimmy after the plane crashed in Amazon.

Yeap, i know. But capoeira is a pretty hard style to adapt in a 2-d fighter. Aside from Elena, all others capoeiristas are pretty weird. Bob Wilson have a butt load of crazy moves, but to me it lacks the felling of this style. Jiu-jitsu from Gracie, that's Brasil, but i don't know about you, a find it really lame. Pitboys and that shit.

Anyway, i was just trying to defend Blanka, ahhahaha!

You know. I've an ideia. How about a umbanda guy. Like with the powers of the Orixás.

It has a lot of moves to ad in it, and as for design, got loads of references in cloths and weapon styles, since each orixa has it`s on weapon of choice. Xango uses a stones axes, Oxosi a bow and Ogun a sword.

JJ is a japanese MA. There is BJJ, that ITS NOT a new MA, its style of JJ. And Capoeira, for me, isnt brazilian too. It was made by the slaves where there are coming for Brazil, so they made it on the sea.
